    Have you ever ridden down to the bottom of the Pouto peninsula? Great road, and it turns to gravel some ways before the end, if I recall correctly.

    Yup. It sucks. Really spoils the look of the place, IMHO. Last summer the area around the lake that used to be a border of pines in between the water and the farmland was all just chewed-up tracks, bare hillsides and logging detritus.

    (I notice that Google Earth still shows the trees - satellite photos cover that area, the high-res aerial photography starts just to the north of the lakes.)

    I'm in, it is my first born son birthday, 25.01.2000 , just like his dad he is bike craze , when he was 4 year old he had pw50 yamaha and he recognize any brand and model of road bike from distance as their go pass , now he ride 125 pit bike and his spelling is better then mine . Biker boy is coming with me for ride, that will be his birthday gift from me .
    PS It is only way my wife will let me out 3rd weekend in the row but I have to ask her first .

    in the event that I get over my recent loss of bike and decide to come, i will be caging it ... so may see ya out there, unless someone has something they want me to take out for them, and then could come and pick it up and take it out

    crashed on motorway when two cars both didn't see me and tried to merge in on me from both sides, was only low speed (hence i walked away from it) but another car drove over it... its written off
