    Nationals Round 3

OK Ruapuna this weekend, and honestly is it any wonder the racing gets such small crowds? Was reading The Press at work and had a good write up on some of the guys, but looking through the paper couldn't find any advertising for the racing. Nothing at all regarding tickets, race times, programme etc. Anyone know what the deal is? Gate sales only? Is it a weekend pass or seperate ticket for each day or what?
Good luck everyone who is racing, looks like it'll be good weather!

its 15 bucks regardless when you attend. it was at timaru. i was kinda annoyed at that entry fee. i mean i am (well was) a student but i love going to the racing (which is usually free)if im not racing. suddenly im asked to pay 15 bucks to watch. ok theres some good guys out there but its a steep price (which is not an offense to the guys racing) and what do i get for it. its very little more than a club meet really now days. if i wasn't involved with the racing and money was tight i wouldn't head out. if i even knew it was on.

You should be grateful that it was only $15 for a national meeting as I went to see the Lady Wigram Trophy at Ruapuna last weekend. It was $35 at the gate:gob the bloody racing was boring so I think in spite of your financial situation $15 is cheap entertainment for your money

haha yea we went out and checked out fridya practice at the lady wigram. 10 bucks just for the friday.

however how often do you see a field of 20ish F5000 cars from both sides of the tasman take on each other?? In comparison ive got 8 superbikes on the grid currently. Ok so there is often a reasonable battle but 8 bikes ( of which maybe 4 are really competitive) 600's are only slightly better but shes kinda a 3 horse race (but but guys like lawerence and smith (no 2., well no actually no. 88 but you get the drift) make the racing exciting beyond just 1 and 2).

I'd be happy to pay more if the racing was worth more. i was quite happy paying smaller amount in the past for this racing but 15 bucks ( there was a couple of us that i paid for that made it seem alot more) per person jsut doesn't seem worth it.

$35 for Lady Wigram? Did that include $10 car park? I had a weekend pass for $25 (well free actually), what was rude was they had roped off part of the embankment and were charging $20 extra to park there on Sunday. I ducked home to grab a jacket at one stage and drove back in around 3.00, and had started raining, thought I might try around the banking and the wanker still wanted $20 to park. Asked if he could guarantee any racing if it rained, and he couldnt be sure, still wanted a twenty though, didnt get it from me.

Oooooh, ya jammy bugger! I'd give my left nut to see those things in action. It's funny, they reckon they are getting bigger fields at the Historic meets than back in the day. Awesome machines.

For fucks sake - How much does it cost to go to the movies for 90 minutes ??? !!!
$15 would get you 2 beers in a pub in Wellington on a Friday night (and not even a flash one)
How much does it cost to get into an NPC rugby game for a couple of hours entertainment ?

As Mr Nike would say "Just do it" !!!!

Nicely put into perspective. I thought it was well worth $15 for the weekend. Free Posters in the pits - great racing.

Come on - whats with all the standard New Zealand whinging and negativity - time we all get over it and get out the and support these events - If we dont, they wont run them - simple.

If the racing is anything like last year's Puke Nat's it's worth more than $15 for the Sunday alone...there could have only been 3 Superbikes that day (so long as they were piloted by Bugden, Shirriffs and Jones) and that class alone would have been worth it to watch...nut case Jones getting sideways at 240+ entering Jennian while Shirriffs is sticking his nose around the outside and they're both up Bugden's arse...like Wharfy says, the $15 alternatives don't come close.
