Racing CV - What's involved and anyone want to share theirs?

I'm desperately trying to find a corporate sponsor (like everyone else...lol) to assist me with my racing. Shortly I won't be able to race much at all if I don't manage to get some financial support from a corporate sponsor. my immediate problem is the north island rounds of the Nationals...I'm skint and the entry fees are $370 for late entry/transponders.

Sooooo.....I need to come up with a CV to present to potential sponsors. What I was wondering is there anyone who has done one that they don't mind sending me to have a look at to get an idea of what is involved in it? I realize it is all about the "bling" when it comes to getting a potential sponsors attention but thats not what I'm refering to (I have the bling sorted ;-))...what I'm interested in is the content inside a 'racers CV.'

I've always identified specific target sponsors or met them somewhere where we've ended up chatting and then sent a race CV through to back up the first contact. I've never ever done a mail drop type thing.

You are WAY more likely to pick up sponsorship from people that know you at this early stage in your career mate.

Forbes & Davies are fantastic! They took a chance on a noob like me and I'm stoked for their support! And to top it off they have the tires that I love METZELERS! I couldn't have done as much as I have without them...now I'm just looking for cash to do more.

Brian your right and wrong in what you said...I believe if you find a person in a corporate that can get excited about a 'promotion' I think I can provide a platform to generate interest for them. Its not all about results...rather branding. Hopefully the results will come but even if they don't, I still think I could successfully market a brand.

My 5 cents worth is to also talk with people in other sports. Arguably the person you will learn the most from is a person that is really good at getting sponsorship, no matter what sport they're in.

I would have thought ACC with their motorcycle campaign may have been worth a call. They want to get through to a target market and your bike would be right at the face of it.

Shouldn't be too hard to come up with a racing CV. Lemme know if you want someone to subedit it.

Who are you thinking of submitting it to? Gotta be an outfit that thinks it'd be worth a few hundy bucks to advertise that way. No point spamming the world; targeted marketing's the key.

Difficult.

You'll have to pitch the size and nature of the audience, how you'll effectively advertise to it, etc.

Realistically, though, I'd have to say your best bet for covering those costs is probably your bank manager.
