so anyway, i popped into city honda today and checked out the 2008 blackbird (which is really an '07 that's been hiding at Blue Wing as a demo), 2200km, black, very tidy, but the main feature is the factory honda blackbird luggage, the panniers even have the CBR XX Blackbird logos on them

but for $17800 they can keep it....

I also spotted the latest CB600R Hornet next to the CB1000R Predator, quite a stylish machine too...

It still kind of suits as it's a sports bike and I like it. That and laziness. I wonder if it will sell?

I'm tinkering with my panniers and topbox. They will make the Tiger look quite tourey.

I don't mind coming second or even third in that department. The instructions say that they will alter the handling characterstics of the motorcycle and that due care should be taken whilst getting used to them. I love all these little warnings, they make the manuals look bigger.

Best thing about the rides is the fun element,I don't mind being passed,but it can be tricky if the bike flies passed out of nowhere,i.e you check the mirrors,noone behind into a corner then a bike goes passed just after the corner,especially on the twisty roads.Had the odd time thinking thank god I never veered wider.TEC seems to be self organised anyway as most intersections are patrolled so to speak.

Maybe if the faster guys left first which doesn't always happen due to drink or smoke needing finishing,and the group leaves.

As a newer rider I like sitting behind say Al,Sarge,Bones,Jonno,James to try and catch the lines they use,if I feel uncomfortable I will back off,usually I have to think of the passenger(letting her out of kitchen),and the fact these bloody brilliant roads are new to me,not ridden hundreds of times.

I am more than happy to be TEC some nights, as happy to cruise along.

I agree we dont want to have to make lots of rules, but everyone needs to realise that we have a huge range of riders from experienced to very new, and some of us on new bikes who are still getting the hang of them.

Maybe we do need to have a speech at the beginning of each ride since we seem to be attracting lots of new riders to the Friday nights.

It would be nice too if the riders that have stopped to give directions take note when riders do come into veiw and direct . It's not hard.

Obvoiusly time for them to pull their heads in and realise it is a group ride. With no prizes for being first.

And leave the radar detectors at home maybe?........ The last time I went it felt like a race till we got lost and it settled down no end. Got to see the v-max and have a yak, shingle off the the back of a truck means a loss of load to me being a truck driver which is an offence and causing an accident from it is exactly why its an offence, I'd write them a letter asking for damages or tell the insurance company there details after talking to mr plod....
