Angry Traffic lights out all across Auckland! (3 Feb)

Beware of the traffic this arvo.
A major power transformer in Penrose has blown.
This has caused many of the traffic lights at a lot of intersections all over Auckland to go out.

This in turn is causing major traffic problems.
Good to be a biker huh?

Police are getting pointsmen to the worst affected intersections,
but beware of antsy cagers doing stupid things due to frustration!

Brilliant. Commuting from the shore to Howick is going to be even more fun now.

ah... that explains the power loss at one of my clients. Cheers for that, been able to pass on the info.

Time to go for a ride I guess, what with all the cops busy?

Ha, no way they'll be staffed to follow up any driving complaints this arvo.
On the other hand, if you have a crash, good luck with getting police attendance this arvo either...

Eh? I just crossed the city to St Mary's Bay, had a shag then crossed back through the city to work and the lights were acting normally (i.e. holding up traffic).

Usually, when the lights go out in Auckland, traffic improves.

Well, power is still out in lots of places. All up and down Dominion and Mt Eden and Mt Albert and Balmoral Roads.
    They've totally evacuated Sylvia Park...
