Love my mooncup! Initial outlay was accompanied by a sharp intake of breath but I reckon I've saved a fortune in tampons in the last three years. Only downside I reckon is you don't get much warning that you need to empty - you know how you a tampon gives you a five minute warning 'gurgle'? Well if you feel a gurgle with a mooncup it's probably already too late!

Sorry - I have to ask.....isn't it gross to clean it out? I mean how do you make sure it is clean and hygienic to use next time???

A three monthly injection in your butt can solve all of these problems ha ha

Well, for any one who has ever had to clean out a septic tank or been to a "shit farm", you may look at tampons in a different light. It's your own blood what's to be scared of?

As opposed to the weird feeling of wanting to cry over something stupid like a tv commercial on a bad day at 'that time of month?'

Give me the synthetic hormones any day!

Depends if you're grossed out by that stuff - it needs a quick wash in the shower each morning and then boil it for five mins (in a pot on the stove, with baking soda if you like) ready for next time. Easy peasy.
