Yep, we will be on for the 7th.

Being a long weekend it will be a very good idea to stick to legal speads.

    BUMPITY BUMP!

Just a reminder this ride is tomorrow! And it turns out I can make it (I thought I'd be away for the weekend but I'm not). Yay for me!

Here are the details for anyone who missed them:

    Date: Saturday 7 Feb
Time: Meet 9:30am, ride starts 10:00am
Meeting place: Shell Westgate (turn left at the end of the North-Western motorway, the station is just before the roundabout.)
Destination: Matakana (Dragonfly Cafe, 3 mins out of Warkworth towards Matakana)
Route: Old North Road --> Peak Road --> SH16 --> West Coast Road --> Woodcocks Road
Alternative Route: If anyone on the day prefers to take another route (eg if you would rather stick to the main road all the way) we can accommodate that, and will make sure newbies have at least one more experienced rider to accompany them. There will be no pressure to go past your limits.

Who can come on the ride: By general consensus, this is primarily a ride for the girls. Less experienced riders are welcome. Boys may attend on condition they:
    a) are accompanied by a girl or
    b) are prepared to ride like a girl for the duration of the ride (whatever that means) AND
    c) stick to the purpose of the ride - learner-friendly, no pressure, no showing off.

Oh, and any boys attending will be expected to buy the coffee.

I wish I could wear a skirt on the bike - this hot weather is killing me in all the gear! I think we may have to settle for making the boys wear lippy.

Cool map! Yes, I believe that's the route that has been proposed. There are some nice roads in that lot, as long as you don't get caught behind a convoy of caravans or horse floats.

Anyone who's not familiar with the route doesn't need to worry - we will make sure we don't lose anyone.

Thanks for the ride, everyone. There were five of us girls along for the ride and the traffic and road conditions were excellent for us.

I felt pretty sorry for everyone heading north on SH1 though. Heading south after the ride we went past queues for miles heading the other way.

Great ride thanks Klingon and Miss.L for organising it.

Old North Road and Peak Road seemed to be in great condition and not a lot of traffic. Got home though and thought maybe I should have gone to Cape Reinga after all

Thanks for an awesome cruisey ride ladies, it was good fun.

MadDuck, I know what you mean, I could have quite easily headed north too, actually there are still quite a few daylight hours left...
