    I never win anything...

until today, that is! Bought a bottle of Mumm Cordon Rouge champagne from Countdown during a promotional sale and was entered into the draw to win a luxury weekend away for two, staying at a four or five star hotel, all meals included, plus champagne and massages - and a Porsche Cayenne for the weekend as well. I was moaning to a friend only on Sunday that I never win anything but today I got an email asking when I would like to take the trip as I had been the lucky winner!

The other half is rapt, he was worried I'd won a case of champagne (he doesn't drink), and it will make a nice belated birthday and anniversary celebration trip.

I'm wondering what the third bit of good luck will be - we've already been loaned a Corvette to take to AmeriCARna, so hopefully we'll win the prize draw up there for a classic car!

    Congratulations!
Good for you. I never win anything either, which (now) has a lot to do with giving up on entering competitions because of the lack of success. But at least I'm well ahead of your average Lotto player....
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Really? So if I bowled up at any time, food, drink and massages would be on tap? Shame about the Holden though...

I have won a few things, but this is the biggest - until now I'd won a Dolmio teatowel (rather than the trip to Italy I'd entered to win) and a Swandri sleeveless jacket in a Stones Green Ginger Wine competition. See a recurring theme here? "I only bought the wine/champagne to enter the draw!"

    Nice one Beemer!
I have only ever won a gallon bottle of Haig whisky...which my alcoholic ex disposed of, and a mystery weekend, which became our belated honeymoon!

Congrats of the little holiday ya'll be gettin, and the gas guzzler!

True story, I once won a pack of colouring in pencils. The shiny glittery kind. But they werre all out of shiny and glittery, so i got a %*#$ing normal set. Kick in the pants. The only thing I've ever won!

Good point, but considering I DID buy a bottle of the champagne and was entered in the draw automatically by using my Onecard (which I do have and did use), I'm pretty sure it's legit! If I had received an email telling me I'd won something but I didn't remember entering the draw, I'd be a bit suspicious. The email address is genuine, as are all the details on the bottom, such as the phone numbers and address of the company running the promotion. And no, before you ask, it's not based in Nigeria!

Edited to add - don't you love it when someone edits their post WHILE you are replying to it! youngbiker16 asked if I was sure it wasn't a scam...

I dont win much either, but I won a Canary at a fair when I was 7....Set up the cage in my bedroom. Couple of days afterwards I caught my cat (Lucky was her name) coming out of the bedroom....The cage was tipped up, and the bird was gone, and I dont think it flew out the window either!

Congrats .. that is really awesome ... I rarely win anything .. unlike my mother ... who enters things in my name sometimes and wins for me!!

No worries, you're not the first to worry it's not legit! I emailed the woman straight back and hadn't heard anything from her so I rang and got her voicemail - number matches the one on the email and the name is the same, says who she is and what her job title is, so pretty confident it's kosher! (You'll hear me screaming from your place if it's not!)
