Sorry mate. Don't agree woth this sentiment one bit.

    Is your bike eligible?

Have you completed the prerequisite number of events?

Yes to those, then you're a national level racer. The entry fee is twice most club events, yes. But quite frankly, you'll get more than double the track time you get at any club meeting. There's also no reason you can't run the weekend on one front and two rear tyres. Maybe not competitively but then, if you're racing a hornet you're not in it to win championships. No offence.

Put it this way. If you had have taken three weeks off work for a South Island holiday, paid your entry fees and the same number of tyres you used for the Actrix Winter Series, you would be running a shiny number "10" on your board for the next year. How cool would that be?

That's not even mentioning the fact you get to share the track with the Strouds (legend), Bugdens, Jones' (stinking Aussies but thoroughly good blokes), the Shirriffs (funny as fuck and the nicest bloke in NZ racing right now), Fitzgeralds (can't be too bad, don't know hime that well).

And quite simply, how fucken cool is that?

F%$k me, someone who agrees with what I think!!
Manfeild entry fee for championship classes = $250 for 2 days racing. EDIT: I mean that is not bad value for money really.

You guys really are talking yourselves out of it.

Svr, the national series seems to be a big scary place for your average club racer these days. I would have thought it would been the ideal time to look flash with only about eight in front of you on a grid ? Gaz.

ps I don't understand another thread about a hillclimb that is far more dangerous getting so much young chat ?

The things I like about the hillclimb are the rarity of an event like it, its close proximity, and for $100 I get to test myself without the stress of worrying about someone else cocking up and hurting me. Just me, a great road and the clock. There is a nice vibe there too.

No Dave, I don't really believe that it is either. I really believe that there are other issues at play, e.g. more scared of getting beaten rather than racing over a cliff or into a powerpole, like being big fish in small pond, like wasting money on a new exhaust pipe to get 3 hp rather than a weekend racing and trying to learn more.

I don't hold with the too big and scary issue either. Well, perhaps I do as that is what I am getting at. It isn't really too big and scary, it just seems that way cos alot of guys who have no or little experience of it are saying that it is.

While I agree with some of what you chaps are saying, I don't really think bagging another event or someones choice to do it is particularly sporting.

But then, I am one of those flash in the pan, no nothing/no talent wombles you particularly like to rave on about Gaz, so my opinion's probably worth shit.

    More KB speculation huh ?

I'm not scared of feck all, but you're not necessarily talking about me anyway.

As for the hillclimb - it is a totally different buzz to a road circuit. And if cost was the issue - the hillclimb is as little as $100 for two days.

A lot who enter the hillclimb don't even race at club level, so why would they enter the Nats ? They do the hillclimb for fun guys. Don't knock something you haven't tried. Could ask are you scared ? And what's with the bullshit about a big fish in a little pond ? Jay Lawrence is current King.

But keep speculating - this is KB, full of know it alls, smart arse etc. Not that I'm necessarily talking about you. Stirrers.
