There's a small battery in the dash, it takes fuck all power to keep a clock running. How long does your watch go between battery changes?

What benefit do you get from disconnecting your battery for a period of 2-3 weeks?.

If it was as easy as disconnecting the battery to wipe the odometer, there would be serious issues.

If the bike isn't turned on, you got nothing to worry about.

Only time I would disconnect it is for a winter (if I lived in Canada).

    Complete waste of time.

You would be a lot better off leaving a trickel charger on it.

Theres also a little flash-memory chip in the dash. It can write lots of stuff into this memory and store it indefintely - internal or external battery connected or not. But yeah the clock runs from a tiny battery onboard. You can reset the odometer by browning out the main battery wiring.

Sometimes it's healthy to get an existance out in the blue VR dome, away from the real world.
