i stand corrected. Was thinkin of this earlier and remembered the feeling that stirred when i first saw / read about the MT-01.
1700cc of V-twin BALLS in an upright beastie, the best of both worlds in my opinion
I think this excerpt of a review sums it up nicely

    # The bike has a slightly disturbing tendency to make the rider produce bizarre whooping noises while going for the most dubious overtaking opportunities available in the certain knowledge that, regardless of the gear the machine is in, it will make the gap with time to spare.
    # It sounds disturbingly like a large, powerful outboard motor, spitting farting and burbling on the over-run. At low speed the sound pressure, even with earplugs in, is slightly uncomfortable as you crack the throttle open and your ears pop from the sudden vacuum.
    # It’s huge. Until you get on it, when it shrinks. Ooh err.
    # It has the comfiest seat ever made. And that’s official.
    # It has fantastic brakes.
    # It handles like a sportsbike and doesn’t weave around high speed sweepers even with the throttle pinned to the stop. Though the back does start to slide.
    # Small children point and stare when you coast by, and start crying if you accelerate. If you roll off the throttle they get blown over by the back-blast.
    # Cats and other small mammals explode if they enter the exclusion zone around the exhaust area.
    # I think I rather like it…

I know what you mean, I test rode one @ AMPS in May last year, need to take her out again now that she's had the full Akrapovic fitted.

Just a quick dream list for an 18 year old.
Honda LEAD with a race prepped XR500 engine and a big, big COBY exhaust... I don't care how, it'll just happen ok?
ZX 14 in white w/ black rims.
    Any race prepped 250cc 2-stroke.
1125CR in white with blue trim.

    1x Noise machine, check.
    1x Daily ridden, check.
    1x Track bike, check.
    1x Weekend bike, check.

Thassabout it. Maybe even a CR500 for those long weekends.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Yeah but it had a Honda Rune in it which means no precedent was set (cept maybe for a scatter gun approach)

OBVIOUSLY it has to be (without shadow of a doubt, no further procrastination or hullabaloo) a brand new (and unused) X75 (and I happen to know where there is one)

All the bikes I have owned have given me that feeling. The 3 I have now are the epitome of it. I suppose I get the same thrill out of whatever I ride. be it a scooter or a sports bike, tourer or classic, dirt or road. I'm a slut I'll ride anything

Usually the one between my legs.

The Terblanche penned 749/999's suprisingly enough. When they first arrived on the scene it was quite a disappointment, looking back it that was only in comparison to the Tamburini designed bikes
They were like that plain girl at high school, ok to look at but not hot, then you meet that same girl later on and wow
Where as the hot ones at school are the ones you see in town with two or more kids, a muffin top, track pants and jandals.

    Otherwise...

07 or 08 Yamaha R6 with Marchescini rims, Brembos, Ohlins, and an Akrapovic full exhaust. In red/white or red/white/black for the 08.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

I wonder if Two Bros. do a six into six like they did for the Valkyrie?
