    Waving

I pulled over on the Coro loop last week to let two bikes past, they were Harleys and they both waved.
They were probably so stoked at passing an air cooled German machine that they lost contol and waved.

Yep the ol' Kombi stuggles up some of those hills..

79 pages on waving to other motorcyclists? Amazing what trivial things we waste our lives on. Personally I don't feel any comulsion to wave to every motorcyclist I pass. If I'm in the mood I might give a wave/nod, but not necessarily. Funny that people think this is some sort of insight to my character/attitude. For all I know the person on that motorcycle is a rapist of young children. Probably not, but funny how we make judgements based on meaningless gestures.

Ok who owns the orange Triumph pussy cat (aka Tiger) and and didn't wave to a friendly rider on a red Hornet? I thought it might be 86GSXR but his is blue and this bike was decked out with hard pannies.

This was by the hospital on Ruahine Street.

To the couple of bike that i passed today. I didn't wave cause you where on inferior machines.

To the guy on the desmocidi. Ride it like you stole it you idoit. That was a complete waste of money for you. If casey stoner sees how you riding it he will stab you with a screw driver. Marco melandri might understand why you ride like poof but casey will not.

    The Rules Of EnWavement

    * Sporty bikes wave at sporty bikes
    * Modern Cruisers wave at anything
    * Harleys and other forms of primitive machines dont wave to modern jappys as a general rule.
    * Classic riders wave like modern cruisers do
    * Scooters (EEEK) dont wave to bikes over 50cc or above and Vs Versa, I am not sure if they wave to eachother ? Maybe too hard concerntraiting as they are too worryed about skinning bare hands/knee's etc..

    That was my observation

The occasional Harley-esque biker has given me a smiling nod. Scary stuff it is!

Maybe it's the black leathers, black bike and nakedness that is my toof-iddy sprotbike
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

From some comments in that thread it seems like it happens as much as on this!
    Waving voids your warranty!

'sorry, duhast, but the "wave" threads have become a bit ....well,
    tiresome. No offense.
    Here we go again ...........

    BMW riders and waving...

Many times I have read on here that BMW riders are wankers who never wave because they are too arrogant or whatever (unlike Harley riders who are just plain scared of taking one hand off the bars) but I'd like to dispute this.

When I had a BMW I always waved (even at gang members, whoops!), and my husband, who has two BMWs, also waves to every bike - and usually before they wave back, not just in response to their wave.

We went for a ride to Carteroni last weekend (a couple who own and restore classic Lancias near Mangaweka) with the local BMWOR. First of all, some of them need a boot up the bum as they never waved once. But we were towards the front of the group for most of the ride and I could count the number of riders who waved back on one hand. So do people not wave at BMW riders because they don't expect them to wave back, or do BMW riders not wave to other riders because they never wave back? Just curious. Must have said "well, fuck you then" about a dozen times that day!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

I got sick of nobody waving back so now I just give them a wink and a smile.
