    Bugs in my lid!

With all the bugs flying around this summer a fair few of the buggers are ending up in my HJC fs-10. I think they are getting sucked thru the chin vent.

Mangled fly's popping in to say hello can be a bit distracting, but a wasp appeared under my nose last week and it'd be fair to say he was pretty pissed off!

Does anyone else have this problem?
(I get a couple every ride)

Any advice what to do about it?
(It's too hot to ride without vents open. At present I just turn my head and open the visor for a second, then wait for the next visitor)

    Cheers

    Buy a better helmet
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Sorry dude, most go splat!!!! on my lid. Usually right between the eyes...lol. I have had a Bee in the helmet before but that was when I had the visor open.

Try giving up Jam, because Wasps are attracted to that!

Had a cockroach in there once, but it had crawled in, not flown.

Helmet had been in the garage for a few days, and when I was a coupla km's into my early morning ride, I felt something moving on top of my head. Thought it was just the bald spot shedding more hair, but soon realised that it wasn't.

I couldn't stop quick enough and it couldn't get away quick enough (I can understand that ).

Didn't need a coffee that morning.

You guys may be right. I do like the lid tho, it's really comfortable, not to heavy (composite) and has a dark internal visor. Too bad they let the janitor design the vents

Sitting here drinking in the evening, as you do. I thought came to me (I hate it when that happens) Get some thin mesh, cut to fit and glue to the inside of the vent area, cheaper than a new lid, not an obvious DIY job and cheaper than a new lid.

Major benifits include dice insects not live ones and more protien in your diet.

Usually it's warm so the visors open a little.....
    No problem,
Turn head sideways a wee bit, watch as bug ejects himself at a great rate of knots! or if he's a mad bug he'll try like hell to hang on.. funny as hell, twist throttle for faster ejection!

Ignore those label-bashing people who say you need a better lid. More $$$ doesn't necessarily mean better.

I don't get bugs coming in through the vents - the only problem is when I have the visor open a bit. Got a sandfly straight in the eye once - and that hurt! So yeah, I just ride with the vents open now and keep the visor closed unless stopped.
