Come on lighten the thread. We all know the risk and the rule is “ you ride at your own speed” As long as there is a sweeper or everyone know where the ride is going and no one worries about getting lost there is no need to ride outside your comfort zone. I don’t want to ride at a slow pace, nor do I want to ride at warp speed. So I will ride at my own pace and if I bin it, it is not your fault

I feel the pain and it is important to think about this but we are big people and it is up to each one of us to take responsibility for our own safety. I say this in a nice none threatening way.

You guys have been lucky so far. It's time to exercise a little responsibility.
It would be naive to think otherwise.
Yeah wise words in my humble view. Try a few more track days - so much fun and so much faster than you'll ever go safely on the road you won't want to look back. Fun as it is to meet up with youse fellas for weekend rides, I'm happy to take is slow & keep the real speed for the track. Shit, did I just write that crap? I mean slow on the straight bits & fast on the bendy bits!

Dooly, have fun this Friday at Taupo you lucky bugger. My Friday is completely fucked but I'm holding out a glimmer of hope for Kiwi Trackdays on Sunday. Can't wait to try out the new suspension settings!!

Meanwhile keep it shiny side up people, one of my mates in the Haumoana FB was first on the scene at the crash & he was pretty messed up about it yesterday so must have been pretty ugly coz we get used to working on busted bodies.

You have a Mentor in your group. He should be controlling the speed you ride at. And George should be a good influence. I know Tony can’t cos he was born in to speed.

I don’t know ….. we just can’t trust you lot.
Nothings going on really. Just been riding both days these last weekends, been great.

I must admit I've been 'getting into it' lately and tend to moreso when leading which I've done the last few weeks.
    Don't let me lead!!!
And yes there have been 'hairy' moments but in all honesty, not as many as I would of thought.
But I also have been reflecting on it this week so dunno.......

I guess it will sort itself out.
    K Si Ra......
Lets enjoy our group and ride on.

George had it sussed on Sat, he dropped back and went at his own pace, which is totally cool.

Off to the trackday Friday, should be good, lose my Taupo virginity

On a more sombre note, been talking to DR girl tonight. Most of you dont know her, cool lady.
Sounds like she's in hospital for a while, broken leg, wrist, plates, rods etc etc , all the nasty shit.

Oh boy. Am I hearing that it’s time for all sport and large tourer bike owners to trade down to GN250’s? If we only bought our 750cc+ bikes so that we could show off the big number in order to stroke our ego’s... then perhaps one of us could start selling 1000R stickers on trade me... to stick on our new GN’s. Hmm I’m sure that even the handful of superbike owning cops would line up for their new lil commuters.
Just trying to remember when the last time was when someone said ‘now that was a great ride’ after idling around HB back roads.... I’ll get back to ya’s all on that... maybe.

    Yep got it in one.

George has the right attitude and good on him. Good example G.

Have a blast at the track Tony. It is a great track.

Pass on our regards to DR Girl. Would it help if we have a whip around and send some fruit, flowers or something?????? Or is she tuff and that would embarrass her? I don’t know, I have never meet her but she has ridden with this group right? So could it help for her to know people care? Sounds like a lota healing needs to happen….

No. I haven't raced a bike on a track yet. Pretty keen on giving it a go though.

Hey Steve. I pop in here from time to time to be reminded of what the Z is missing out on these days.

Actually, my mistake... I'm not keen on 'racing' because I simply cannot afford to buy the bike and the gear etc, let alone the cost of using a track... not to mention that I wouldn't have much chance of winning, not with my limited 'experience'.

However, I would like to participate in a training day event. Learn myself some skills.
