"....many a thing said in jest....."
I think that is actually sane advice....particularly in view of the unfortunate circumstances on Sunday.
You boys are probably a little old for boy-racer type escapades in the countyside on public roads. . . it's a dangerous game, and an illegal one at that.
Although I may have been guilty of following the leader lately, this is not my usual pace of riding.
Age and 25 years of motor racing have blunted my desire for speeding excessively on the open road....jeez I ride a BMW tourer, that should say something !
What you guys are doing with the track days is commendable - that's where you should be getting your rocks off.
You guys have been lucky so far. It's time to excercise a little responsibility.
It would be naive to think otherwise.
Yes we are all a bit sombre at the moment but some perspective please. We are a vulnerable road user with all the risks that go with that. Whether we go into a corner at 80/100/120 if there is oil/diesel on the road, same basic result. Hell I dont want to get paranoid that there is oil on the road everytime I ride or I may as well hang my leathers up!!!!
We could wrap ourselves up in cotton wool, or live life and enjoy the freedom and exhileration that a bike offers. Some people ride faster, others slower but we roll the dice every ride and it takes all sorts to make the world go round.
My two cents worth![]()
its got lots of cool bits in it!, and in a lot of places nice slow twisty stuffas well and LOTS of elevation change, i'd loove a track that had good uphill and downhill bits

Not quite what we are meening, there is a difference in riding fast when the roads are good for it but there are roads we dont no and are deemed dificult so we adjust our speed to suit.
The track is whare we push our limits cos there aint anything comeing the other way. Some smaller country roads are very technical and it could be on that tight corner that we tend to drift out on and there happens to be a car coming or worse a truck cutting the corner. Ride well and ride safe not much else to be said realy.

So what has been going on since I stopped riding with this group?
You have a Mentor in your group. He should be controlling the speed you ride at. And George should be a good influence. I know Tony can’t cos he was born in to speed.
I don’t know ….. we just can’t trust you lot.![]()
