as with any helmet, go and try them on before comitting to anything. I use closed fullface helmets and really liked the look of Arai back when I first bough a bike helmet (about 10 years ago) but they just aren't comfortable on me. I'm shoei through and through, had 3 and they all fit like a glove. (a face glove even!!!)
Purchased a Zeus for my first helmet. Cool art, didnt want to spend a fortune on the beginner gear. The visor held at high speeds, average air flow, not quiet, but not noisy, easy to remove pads to clean, visor fogs no matter what anti-fog cleaner used. All in all, an average beginner helmet.
UNTIL.
About a month in, the padding had softened so much around my head that it felt like whiplash when looking over my shoulder. I had purchased a size smaller, as recommended, but it softened so much that I felt like a bobble head. The shop wouldnt take it back, and I was stuck with tightening the chin strap so much it was near choking and padding it up about 3-4mm.
I have purchased a JVC helmet and am happy with the fit. Though beware the helmet with pushdown visor. Quite noisy with the wind catching the lever on top of the helmet.
Hope it helps.
I got me a Zeus for my first helmet. Flip up front. The only problems that I have with it is that it is a bit on the heavy side, and its as loud as heck at 100ks. Other than that, it does its job. It just hasn't had a chance to do the life protection test yet.
