So we all need to make sure we don't blow this opportunity for next time.
Perhaps a few riding ground rules should be laid out?
I felt pretty embarrassed on the Orongorongo ride when right in front of the
farmers house ( and farmer ) , one rider roosted up their bike and dug a furrow right to the gate.
I thought that was pretty stink just after we'd finally managed to get access.
The farmer didn't look to impressed either.
I thought not riding like that would have been obvious, but perhaps it needs to be stated.

yes my freind, you hit the nail right on the head.
i recall this at the station house.
im thinking i might put a cap of 10 bikes, this time round, smaller group easer to keep a eye on.
im on good terms with D.O.C as they also have control over the beach half of the southerlands track, as well as the 4x4 club.
the coast land owner told me in the first ph call, { na mate thers no road there } so thats when i started to explane who we are, and what we intended to do in there.
i think i might strap a tui brick on back just to wet his lips for next time..... hopefully.

Please put me down for this. I have been through this section several times over the years, before it was closed and first when I was looking at moving to an F650 from my then R80G/S. Took the standard GS and a few weeks later a Dakar through and decided on the Dakar!
I always found the downhill from the rockfall/scree area heading north to be a bit daunting on a big bike although easy enough to walk down. No problems on a DRZ400 I used to have though, although I guess the track has not got better over the years since!
Having to take my partner to the A+E the evening before the Orongoronga ride put paid to this one unfortunately, looked like I missed a really good one. Hopefully my attending the 21st event will go to plan! Look forward to seeing you again Stephen, it has been a while.
Thanks for organising this Junkmanjoe.
