    Kaitoke 15th March report

    Greetings,

Today we had an excellent day. Weather turned out nice and sunny.
This was shared with the karts guys today, us getting our first "buckets-only" day next Sunday (22nd) which will also be our first points day.

    Anyway, back to today,..
We had a record attendance with 20 bikes, far more than I expected so we spilt into 2 classes, this being A & B.
The classes seemed to be fairly right, just a couple of B's shifting up to A during the day.

During lunchtime, we were treated to Fishie racing his Loncin-powered bucket against a Karter in a Loncin-powered Kart. Great to watch !!

Only 2 real major offs, one karter going backwards through a wooden wall (wasn't seriously hurt) and also yours truly, trying to find an opporrtunity to pass in a gap that wasn't there, resulting in spectacular carnage (so I'm told).
I'm okay now, just still quite sore in the back. Sorry for dinging the bikes, guys !!

All in all though, great day was had by all, saw lots of smiling faces.
Thanks for making the day successful

(please feel free to add pics)

It sure was a grand day, some fantastic racing, great battles going on in both classes!!!! And what a fantastic turn out!! I was talking to the lady who takes the payments etc and she said they were all well impressed with how many of us turned up with well presented bikes and a high standard of racing, and to almost out number the amount of karts turning up she said we're doing them a massive favour really by boosting their takings for the day. So that's all good news!
More good news, Kendog's Grey Ghost did the entire day without any issues, and after a pep talk from me he started to get a bit more speed on and really start to enjoy it, so the boy is pleased but I'll let him tell his own story.
I only got in the practice session on the freshly put together Rangi before the carb issue that we thought might end it all showed itself, bugger it! But in the bit I did get, what a cool little bike!!! I'm very much looking forward to some more!!!!

It was scary!!! I had to cover my eyes when Fishie went to undertake the kart on corner 1 and the kart didn't know he was there and went to cut in on Fishie and luckily Fishie dropped back, the carnage image scared the shit out of me though!!!!! (Was a good race. Fishie had him on the straights but the kart was faster in the corners!!)

I think the prize for the "best presented" bike must go to Dean.
    Brave colour choice that.

Oh wait, you didn't have a choice ;-)

The Kart was a single speed Loncin 110 (forward cylinder one).
They wanted Fishie to go around the track in just one gear also

    Thats right ,NO CHOICE!
Isnt it funny when you think you can trust a mate (and his wife) and he does something like that to you.

But I think it did match my eyes quite well.

No doubt photos will emerge shortly.
It's not that I'm wrong- It's your too dumb to understand!!!
