id take the toyota over a lame evo 4, lol
Meh it's only a matter of fuelling, the engine is quite happy at 19 psi ....
and STIs have gearboxes made of glass IMO.

Actually TBH I've smoked quite a few of the earlier ones in a ST215 ... I guess I am just totally underwhelmed by Subarus in general

Genevieve, do get along to a MotoTT day. It's far safer than riding on the road, and you'll be out there with other people riding at your own pace, with tutors circulating to show you lines and analyse your riding with you after each session.

It's amazing how riding on the track improves confidence and skill. All the other KB girls who've tried it will agree on that point, I'm sure.
For once I actually agree with jrandom, although I haven't (yet) been to a MotoTT trackday, if you want to build some on-bike-confidence you really should get yourself to a trackday, you get tuition and stretch your bikes legs without being in too much danger (ie, no cars or manhole covers etc to worry about). Just be mindful that riding on a track and on the roads are quite different (but I'm sure you already know this, you seem like a smart cookie), but great for building confidence and getting a speed fix!! Get into it!!

That all sounds very sensible Trudes- you've successfully changed my mind about tracking.

Very accurate bit of advice about track vs road. I've raced cars so I guess it's the same priniciple. Gotta love a controlled environment of utter mayhem

    Nice bike you ride there.

I took an '89 for a test ride a few weeks back and was amazed at the smoothness and top end power on it... slightly quicker than my Hyo

If you search these forums, you will find a few threads with reasons why you may change your mind about sticking to that rule.... ditch the L plate and go 100km. MUCH safer for you, and the cager drivers out there.

About 3 years of road riding, so not too long in many peoples eyes. Did a wee bit of off road on the farm though. My first bike was a honda nxr125 and about 5 months ago I upgraded from that to my zx6rr. Best thing I ever did, beautiful machine too
I'm actually going to do my first track day on the 4th april on it, looking forward to letting her rip

    I know one in palmy
yes the TRD gt4 [even stock] st205 is sexual. sti's are just like aids.

I'm in two minds about that - Miss Mully isn't really at a point where I want to take the L plate off yet, beause (I think) people are a bit more patient than they otherwise might be.

Although if she did more open road riding, I'd probably change my mind.

IMO, get a bright pink jacket - Miss Mully got one and has reported the difference in cagers attitudes.

Oh, and all this car talk will have infractions falling like confetti. Cut it out. It's common knowledge that cars suck when compared to a bike.

    Blah

mmm the L-Plate... stick with it... it is not worth the $400 fine, plus the insurance hassles... The cops wont pull you over for doing more than 70, unless you are being an idiot...

Cars don't look for the L-plate to intimidated you, more along the lines of how confident you are on the road and how you command the space that you are in... ie own the road...
