[QUOTE=davereid;1990160]My 2007 3.6 VZ Commodore goes like a rocket to 160. From 160 to an indicated 220 it still goes well. At 220 speedo its actually going 200 GPS. At that speed its still accelerating but not with much titty, might reach 240 speedo (215 GPS).

My 07 VE SS-V 6.0L (exhuast and intake mods have been done 240kw at wheels stanard is round 210) gets to 160 rather quick and even up to 200 with out much less pace. Past 200 i been to 220 and the needle was still movin at a resonable pace.was done on nice straight road midlle of no where on a very unsed road with another car way ahead incase of others being on the road.

But two measurements of a sloped surface wont work.

Pretty clearly, even if the target was stationary, laser would have measured a change in distance even though none had occured.

So the laser takes a series of measurements, each 1/100 sec apart. Only when it has a whole lot the same indicating a high probability that it is getting reflections off a flat surface does it process the data and give the operator a speed reading.

Thats why CDs work at blinding laser.
Fark, I'd love to see the brackets and fixtures needed inside the car to mount the CDs to get THAT to work!!!

As I pointed out early in the thread, it won't work when you are close to the operator, as he will be able to keep the beam on a nice flat surface like the front number plate. (If your car has one.. my plate is on a nice steep slope too)

But at longer ranges it works just fine, giving you plenty of time to spot the cop, or hear the laser warning and slow down.

But as far as being a viable way of not getting a ticket goes it's pie-in-the-sky..

We're not interested in your recreational activities outside of motorcycling...
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

What's the point in targeting a vehicle that's two kilometres away? It may be viable in a theoretical sense but will never work in a practical sense. It does provide cops with a great source of amusement though.

    And the excuse was????
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
