    Woohoo!!

Volty chain and sproggles purchased and ready to go!

I even cleaned up a bit of my chrome for the occasion... it's a bit embarrassing when you're talking to Frosty and he gets out a cloth and starts rubbing the rust off your bike...

Anyway I'll bring some biscuits for suppertime! That should distract Frosty from my rust.

Hey bro, I might be keen to pop over eh!

Might do an oil change at yours, I'll bring the filter and oil and run through any other nitty gritty stuff.

Reckon there'll be time to do headset bearings? I've got everything ready but I dont' want to do them by myself in case I get stuck and need tools I don't have or somebody else to help hold things etc. (this bike's my only transport).

How long would it take I wonder? I don't want to keep you around for hours. Plus it sounds like you're doing relatively minor things, headset bearings are a little more involved.

Have asked Frosty, he said he would prefer a day in the weekend when he has more time. Do you have Saturday or Sunday free?

Cheers Jorja -- that's fair enough, it does seem like a prick of a job.

I do have Saturday and Sunday but I have to work from 5pm onwards both days so I was somewhat hesitant in case there turned out to be a problem, then I'd be on the bus. But if I came over in the morning then that would leave me some more time just in case hehe.

I'll wait to see what Squiggles is up to tomorrow night and I'll get in touch with Frosty if I still need a hand.

    Thanks! Have fun guys

Yep, and to make things worse, it's a conversion kit for roller bearings. So the old ball races have to come out

I saw your tip for freezing the bearings so they're sitting in my freezer now, but before I get anywhere they'll lose their cool Maybe I should carry them with an icepack!

Oh darn, I forgot to introduce myself. I should have realised that was you, when I saw the crumpled/repaired chrome on the back of a Volty (having previously read the story about you being bumped by a car).
Sorry; belated, "Hi, I'm Sam, AKA Samgab on KB"...
Hope the Volty is back up and running by the time you read this, replete with fresh chain/sprockets.
