Was at a trackday at Puke once, when a couple of them were there. I was still learning to ride my CBR600RR, and it was my first time on it at Pukekohe, they were marginally quicker than me at the start of the day, but by the end I'd caught and passed them. They would've been doing about 65's on litre bikes. Reasonable.

my boss ran across a few of them this last weekend...going over the Kopu-Hikuai road...he got stuck behind a couple slow cars for a bit (~70km) but the litre boys (or at least 1 of them) decided to over-take him & the cars on a blind corner, between the cars and the centreline - dragging his knee.

Not the best idea I wouldn't have thought - but then I don't ride a litre, and I ride like a nana so I'm unqualified to judge

Sounds like a perfectly safe overtaking manouver. Life is too short to be stuck behind some tool doing 90 on the open road

Seems this kind of motorcyclist has a wider habitat than Bank's Peninsula on a fair weathered weekend then, despite being an endangered species. Not too surprised though...

Doesn't bother with proper spelling, grammar and semantics either by the looks of it...

    Oh, but you are.

BAHAHAHA i remember that ride!!! I was on bruces TL1000! It still cracks me up remembering that mirror literally exploding!

I used to ride with them, but only really rode with John and Vladi... Nice guys, very fast on the road (too fast for me now). But only do 63-65s at Puke... easy to run circles round them on the track on a 600.

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.

It's been a while since I've caught up with them, but I've never seen them on slicks or without plates....
