    Cheers Dave,

like you know, always good to get a new toy! mods will be a long time coming, gotta stick with the basics first and get some coin back in the piggy bank for down the track. just keen not to wreck the stock plastics through my negligent riding styles!

Hey Bubbs you even think of changing the look of that bike & I'll come & ram a KLR mudguard up your jaksie You bought a classic as in a fucking classic not a cheap shitty bitza you can go around wrecking!!

Had I known you were planning on chaging it I would have bought it & put it on the pedestal upon which it belongs.

Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry...

    Cool bike,

Don't worry about removing bits, natural attrition will cover that.

cor, listen you ya! If I do mod it, nothing will be permanent, it will all go back to stock when I'm finished with it and one of your grandkids will be able to have a turn with it for a few years.

There are several hairline fractures throughout the body work from drops in its world travels thus far so El Buggerino's NZ riding is likely going to cause a breakage at some point. Trust me, it ain't what I want to see happen either.

Then it's off to Italy to buy my replacement carbon / kevlar panels...in euros.

mate, definitely when we get to a steep firebreak, deep water crossing or muddy trail - I'll leave you the XRV and complete the route on the DR!

I just know I'm going to find the limits on this thing at some point...probably alone, probably wet, probably steep, and probably towards the end of the day...

-75 to 100w bulbs if I can find the right replacements or custom up a standard set. (who the f*ck specifies 35W bulbs up front!?!?? esp with the 360W alt)
    Nice one!

My TDM850 came with a pair of 35/35W globes reminiscent of Lucas Prince of Darkness, ditto with the decent alternator. Dropped in a pair of common as muck H4 55/60 watters, the difference was night & day!! Try that before wasting time & money on other alternatives. Pinch a pair out of someone's car and go for a test ride?
    Cheers,
    Colin

You might surprise yourself. The twins are really nice for climbing hills - the power delivery is so smooth and they will pull from so low in the rev range that you can travel slower and more controlled that the DRZ400 and then give it heaps when needed i.e. 70ish kph in first. Only problem is that when it does go wrong they take a bit of lifting.

Congratulations on picking up a twin
    Cheers R

    +1

When we are out the singles are revving out up the hills and through the soft stuff, but I'll be plugging along at 2500rpm.
