An MX5 is a great little cage. And this one is tighter than a vestal virgin.

You should all be considering the whimps I saw, not the MX.

We're bikers! Tough, Raw. Fuck the law!

Don't you see? When the compliant get a foothold then our world goes to hell in a hand-basket. Precedents will be set....'Yes, Yaronour. I know other new-age bikers don't break the law, but for fuck's sakes, yaronhour, they's just busting up the last remaining frontier of freedom.'

Bloody anal retentives. Burn them, I say.!!!!
It's not lack of ego - it's sexual insecurity.
They have to drive some aussie piece of crap incase their mates laugh at them and discover they are uncertain if they are fags or not.
Of course their mates suffer from the same condition.
-it keeps the aussie crap car industry semi-solvent.

dpex, you admit to owning, (and publicly driving) a MX-5, AND use Anal as the first word in your thread title.......

Probably a good chance the motorcyclists were not KBer's - might explain a few things you witnessed in ya girl's car.

I've owned an MX5 too - still none of you know me so who cares

I rate them very highly - only sold it because you can't fit a baby seat in them

Awesome machine. Sound like a British drop top but don't stop everytime it looks like rain. Never known a car that could turn in like that - just a hoot to drive - absolute go kart and so flat in the corners

Will totally own one again when the time is right

People that hate on them clearly don't know the first thing about what they're missing and obviously need to be reassured by the approval of others for their actions - sad really - you're missing one of the best cars ever made.

So good that as they changed shape they insisted the car should have no more and no less grip than the original... that's how perfect they were engineered.
Please help keep me in leather and on tarmac - it's good for my ego

the "original" first model of MX5 was entirely based on the Lotus Elan S1 (1963 -1970)
so much so that I know of an owner of one who was able to restore his using MX5 parts with a little bit of modification.

They handle great, are a turbo and cage short of something that can do very well in a targa, are mechanically bombproof but a total hoot to drive. Id get one if they carried more gear. (cant even fit a 066 stihl in the boot!) Closest thing to a bike on 2 wheels for reasonable money.
There, you see! It is possible to find bikers with good taste and a brain.

You're right, mate. This is the third I've owned. Totally bomb-proof and a 'little' zippy.

But jeez, it's a bit hard to get my head-space out of Team Zimmerframe and into the MX when it comes to passing. I have to be so much more concerned with time-on-distance during overtaking.

But, ho hum. I can't carry my fishing gear, my waders, and my all-new floater on the Yammi. Damn it!!!!!

I'm working hard at not going into a long text about how some fucking dicks ripped the side out of my MX today. They managed to do it with a train!

    Mumble.

Double entendre Philistine! From my floater, there's only one of us today who gets to sup on fine fat trout. Yum.

This Honda rider enjoys driving his wife's MX5.

It's a proper MazdaSpeed-tuned model with all sorts of trick bits and it flies! However, living in Coromandel, it's the handling which really shines. You can have enormous fun AND stay fairly legal.

I'm happy to drive it solo or with my wife in it, but less so with a mate as passenger
