Well im not one to spout off excuses and i believe give credit where credit is due, to this end i will say two things:
1. F#@k i had an awesome night on Saturday one to many Kilkennys followed by a brandy or 3, needless to say i felt like shit Sunday morning.
2. Good on ya BILL (Sinful) this guy was unstoppable in both clubmans races, there was no stealing anything from him on the weekend, i wish it was me that had bin sailing past the start/finish in 1st place (i gave it everything) but he and Dallas deserve the accolades for 1st and 2nd in both races.
I had been given some critique about being 1 gear to low and spent Saturday clocking up 1:47.5 laps and just couldnt break these times down any further, i went back to the motel frustrated and a little grumpy thinking that maybe i should just stick to ringing the shit out of the yammy.
I had been having trouble wrestling with the bike since the beginning of the year and was finding it a huge physical effort everytime i went out there.
Sloan gave me his input on what he thought i could be doing wrong, which had nothing to do with the bike and everything to do with body position, i went out and changed 1 thing BANG problem gone thankyou Sloan
Qualifying
I felt quite confident the moment i got out on the track and wasnt too worried bout the slick surface the qualifying positions told the story of the day Bill - Dallas - and Scuzeme 1:47.5 i thought i could be competitive with Dallas but Bill just seemed untouchable on 1:43.
Race 1
Lined up on the grid Bill Dallas Me and Rose in Spirit, Rich on the superduke (he looked killer man) Wharfy on his new Rocket, Green flag down shit start as usual but gunned it and slightly overcooked the apporach into T1 and almost hit another bike turning infront of me!
Bill and Dallas got a clean getaway and i got caught behind a bunch of bikes, by lap two i had caught up to Dallas and got a good line out onto the back straight, got past him and thought turn it up a notch and i may catch Bill.
Came onto the start/finish straight hammer and tongs overcooked the brakemarker grabbed a gob of front brake and prayed, needless to say it must have bin entertaining based on the comments i got after the race, for those that didnt see it i may have a new career doing front end stoppies, ran off the end of the track and watched as i lost 2nd 3rd and 4th place, my next lap i got back up to 3rd place and held it to the finish.
Afterward i discovered i had knocked my PB of 1:47.5 to a 1:44.1 thats almost 3.5 secs for those of you who dont know how to counthighlight of the weekend.
Race 2
Pretty much the same start as race 1 but it took me a little longer to get past Rich and Wharfy by the time i did Bill and Dallas were gone burger, blasted home in 3rd yay!
Things i will take away from PMCC Round 3
1. I learnt how to change a tyre (Damn no one will do it for me anymore)
2. I learnt how to work with the bike and not against it
3. If you need to go 1 gear higher you better go a little faster otherwise it aint gunna work
4. If you gunna do a series get to every meet i got 5th overall in clubmans and kicked my self for not doing round 1, who knows i coulda shoulda woulda got a plaque well maybe.
