Thumbs up Scuzeme's PMCC Round 3

Well im not one to spout off excuses and i believe give credit where credit is due, to this end i will say two things:

    1. F#@k i had an awesome night on Saturday one to many Kilkennys followed by a brandy or 3, needless to say i felt like shit Sunday morning.

    2. Good on ya BILL (Sinful) this guy was unstoppable in both clubmans races, there was no stealing anything from him on the weekend, i wish it was me that had bin sailing past the start/finish in 1st place (i gave it everything) but he and Dallas deserve the accolades for 1st and 2nd in both races.

I had been given some critique about being 1 gear to low and spent Saturday clocking up 1:47.5 laps and just couldnt break these times down any further, i went back to the motel frustrated and a little grumpy thinking that maybe i should just stick to ringing the shit out of the yammy.
I had been having trouble wrestling with the bike since the beginning of the year and was finding it a huge physical effort everytime i went out there.
Sloan gave me his input on what he thought i could be doing wrong, which had nothing to do with the bike and everything to do with body position, i went out and changed 1 thing BANG problem gone thankyou Sloan

    Qualifying
I felt quite confident the moment i got out on the track and wasnt too worried bout the slick surface the qualifying positions told the story of the day Bill - Dallas - and Scuzeme 1:47.5 i thought i could be competitive with Dallas but Bill just seemed untouchable on 1:43.

    Race 1
Lined up on the grid Bill Dallas Me and Rose in Spirit, Rich on the superduke (he looked killer man) Wharfy on his new Rocket, Green flag down shit start as usual but gunned it and slightly overcooked the apporach into T1 and almost hit another bike turning infront of me!
Bill and Dallas got a clean getaway and i got caught behind a bunch of bikes, by lap two i had caught up to Dallas and got a good line out onto the back straight, got past him and thought turn it up a notch and i may catch Bill.
Came onto the start/finish straight hammer and tongs overcooked the brakemarker grabbed a gob of front brake and prayed, needless to say it must have bin entertaining based on the comments i got after the race, for those that didnt see it i may have a new career doing front end stoppies , ran off the end of the track and watched as i lost 2nd 3rd and 4th place, my next lap i got back up to 3rd place and held it to the finish.
Afterward i discovered i had knocked my PB of 1:47.5 to a 1:44.1 thats almost 3.5 secs for those of you who dont know how to count highlight of the weekend.

    Race 2
Pretty much the same start as race 1 but it took me a little longer to get past Rich and Wharfy by the time i did Bill and Dallas were gone burger, blasted home in 3rd yay!

Things i will take away from PMCC Round 3
    1. I learnt how to change a tyre (Damn no one will do it for me anymore)
    2. I learnt how to work with the bike and not against it
    3. If you need to go 1 gear higher you better go a little faster otherwise it aint gunna work
    4. If you gunna do a series get to every meet i got 5th overall in clubmans and kicked my self for not doing round 1, who knows i coulda shoulda woulda got a plaque well maybe.

Thanks again to Dave pitch bitch to me Gah and Marcus and for saving the Big Stuffed Mascot Bear at the hotel from being chucked off the secong floor balcony on Saturday night Hahahaaa.
Thanks again to Paul M(Roadracingoldfart) for critiqing my u tube video (man i thought i was shit hot).
Thanks again to Choppa for two bits of advice that has already made a hugh difference to my riding, Congrats mate for your ruthless and clincal victories on Sunday you a legend but still approachable.
Thanks Bill for being gracious in Victory the Steinies were cold and sweet.
THANKS TO METZELER, TSS RED BARON and EM SERVICES for there support in the series CHEERS

Well thats it for me as far as clubmans goes, its off to F2 for now for some more of "the learn" see you there.

You looked really confident and awesome out there. Pity about the need to show off to the crowd with the 'Rolling Stoppie' in race 1 And pulling 44's out of the bag is even better.

    Catchya at the next round

Thanks mate ! Think things may have panned out slightly different if sat had been a goody for ya !
The fitness you gained in the weeks leading up to sunday showed in the seconds ya knocked off quallifying, but the late night brandies reared their head in that last race !
Your a damn fine competitor and it was a pleasure gettin the learn from ya mate (cost me god knows how much in track days to get level pegging with ya) Know your capable of breaking into the 1.30's easy (with a clear head) and wish ya the best of luck with F2 bro !
Take ya time and pick em off one by one, keeping rubber side down man !
Who knows, if things pan out, i may be back chasing ya again sooner than ya think !

Oh and Marcus and Gah ! I'll fix you up for the drinks ya fed him sat night, next meeting ! Cheers !

    You rode good man

Man i find it all abit intimidating sometimes when i get to the track, an when i seen you in the pits on sat and heard you were going in clubmans on sunday i went back to the motel and had my couple rums an kinda thought to myself what kinda hope do i have everyone looks fast, to be honest the first race was where i thought i see you go sailing past me as our qualifiying times werent that far away from each other. So for me the first race took my mental headfuck (i dont meen you personaly, its the battle that goes on in my head lol) away so on the second i just tryed to get a good start and beat that sinfull fella. I had a real bad morning as i had big big probs tightening my rear axle due to a threaded axle nut. long story short we had to cut the nut off and found the axle tread was rooted too (gotta get a touque wrench) so i was at the point of pretty much giving up on the race meet due to this. Then my mate bevin grabed his axle off his R1 an we managed to get it to fit, i had the warmers on for like 5mins before going out for qualifing, so i was quite flustered thinking i gotta go as fast as i can knowing the whole time i was on cold tyres. Any way i can tell my story when i do my race report. I thought you rode well man and a nice guy to boot. See you again sometime man oh and thats dirty riding tryin ta put me off with doin stoppies like that hahahaha them r6's have mean brakes i can vouch for that !!!!

Like i said in an earlier post, you're the hell compeditor !
I have no doubt that on equal standings (bikes, tracktime etc) you'd prolly kick my arse (again) !
But (where's my caps) BUT, i aint one to bend over and present it haha
Love it mate ! See ya at round 1 !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
