Sounds like you lot had a fantastic ride. Foxton Beach is primo on a nice sunset. Next week you'll have to go earlier.

I'm taking someone back there the first clear night we get and we are definitely getting there earlier and setting up on a log to watch!

If you ask nicely I shall bring the dogs too then you get to watch the water rottie swimming to the south island as the sun goes down

Beach by Opunake is cool too, was there today last year and Tera loved the sun, sand and sea. Can't quite believe I have had the Daytona a year, um feel a short birthday blatt coming on after work

Coffee and cake at cuba afterwards if anbody wants to drive past and stop in they are welcome.

Enjoy the ride tonight and have a nice Easter break. And yes Taranaki beaches are great - so who's teaching me to surf.

    Yes.

Yeah, with the end of daylight saving, not very practical, at least for the organised Weds evening ride. But if you are going for a blat during the week and want some company, feel free to post here about it.

Case in point... its 5.30pm now and its already getting too dark to go Freestyling down the airport, let-a-lone hitting the hills! Winter blows chucks!

Still snow boarding is just about upon us!

Had a nice run this afternoon over the Saddle up to Norsewood and back through Oringi and such. Thought everyone might be at work. I should have posted on here just in case. Lots of stock grazing road verges, over 100head at one stage just free grazing / wandering, no tape, no warnings.

Night rides are always an option if you have good lights.
Snow boarding sounds like fun. A great way to practice falling (not that I need it)

Likewise I decided to take the long route from town the other afternoon just before the sun set, over the saddle and back through the gorge and got to enjoy the K valley racetrack just in time It was a mint autumn run and I felt guilty not dragging others along

The Cafe Cuba, fielding, colyton, ashurst via the ditches and home on Tuesday was a little more challenging at 9pm in the rain but good practice for the grand challenge I am told. (why did I decide to do that? mad I know)

Last night the trip into town was interesting as the K valley road was damp and a little slidy ops:

fftopic: The reason for going was cake (of course) and the Pink Floyd Experience. What a bloody great time was had by all. We were dancing in our seats and in the aisles and one mad joker hopped on stage briefly.

Didn't get out until 11:10, any who didn't go missed a good bash. Lead guitarist was really on form. Old stuff first half peppered with a few well known and then a feast of the Wall and DSOTM after the break.

I was on such a high when I got out and it was cold but dry with a bright moon so had to watch the throttle hand to keep out of trouble

In summary - The Pink Floyd Experience are great and I like riding anytime so dark or rain do not mean no rides. The evening rides idea stemmed from when I was learning on SK1PY and we used to go out every night and end up at a cafe, seemed a shame not to share. Happy to ride with those who aren't fire-hugging slippers in winter people (well not til after the ride anyway)
Pm me if you are generally interested but probably use txt to organise on the day as I am pretty busy at the mo and don't get on line that much.

    Still not stopped

Was an awesome afternoon and after a weekend of local socialising with duckies from the east and south the beast and I were ready for a run
Had a meeting in town so caught up with Horse and chocolate cake at Cuba and decided to indulge his fetish for steel horses and chasing the tracks.

Out via fielding to Halcombe and back through Colyton and Ashurst. What a fab ride, apart from a few road works on the Colyton to Ashurst stretch the roads were in great conditions and traffic at a minimum.

A mild nite for sure only turned on the heated grips for the last blast from Ashurst, bit of wind chill as the beast needed a run and the throttle needed some exertion

Banana cake n custard infront of the fire to round off a perfect midweek winter meander.

Inspired to go and begin packing for the weekend three days of good roads two nights away and soaking the riding muscles in the hot pools is a perfect way to celebrate HRH's b'day.

If I am really good I may get to revisit being a teenager and try out the GPZ9 tooo

Hope the weather holds out but if not thats what heated grips and waterproofs were designed for
