Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!
Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
You really are silly aren't you?
NO! People can't go without a drink for 1 day, if they did that the cops wouldn't need booze busses and then they'd be out of a job. ('Cept for the revenue gatherers of course.) Can't have that in a recession.
Buy up, drink up and go hard. (Or not, as the case may be.)
Being without wine myself... I think that not all religions have these non alcohol purchasing days do they.... muslums, jews, j/w's etc... is it just cause we are a mostly (minority) christian community.
I don't believe in anything... religious, even nearly loosing my dad I didn't pray, so why should the government give the minority the rule of thumb...
I say if you want to open or not should be your choice as a retailer, not the goverments... and if you don't wish to work, then you have to make sure your employer knows that... and can sort extra help out... if he can't find it... he/she can't open.
I think this law sux actually.![]()
In western society christians used to be the majority. Old habits and tradition die hard.
Speaking of which... easter and christmas predates christianity by a long shot. Western christianity simply hijacked these old celebrations that marked the equinox and solstice.
Dont knock it, its a couple of days that some get equivlent of two half times normal pay. I've been told to use up all my lieu/alternative hours after this weekend, nearly two weeks off work and dont have to touch one hour of my two hundred plus holiday I'm due.
Boys can't ride broken toys.
Did I mention I was not religious...probably need to Google those words... solstice, equinox I have heard of but unsure of. I have never studied history... in any format... but I agree old habits die hard, religion etc is a highly touchy subject, so I won't push it... I do like the holidays... I treat them as purely time with my family & friends, a time to reflect on how one lives & loves.
peace out.
"And, look, the luscious and fecund fronds of the Silver Fern has given brilliant birth to a stupendous fruit! A red Hondaberry, desposited by a lesser known species of Plonker Gittus Maximus Idiotus."
They are astronomical terms dealing with the earth's journey around the sun and the changing seasons.
Christmas marks the solstice when for the northern hemisphere the days start getting longer again after the shortest day. It was to celebrate the sun's returning with warmer times and more produced to eat ahead.
Equinox is halfway between the shortest/longest day and marks spring/autumn (depending on what hemisphere you are in) In the northern hemisphere it is soon the time of spring and all the spring growth and births. Another good reason to celebrate.
Google earth shows the significance of these celebrations and what they are all about...
Oh shit after this case and the 4 others I have in my fridge and my 2 emergency cases I only have 3 cases left!!!!
God the emptys are piling up!
