The thing with the big bore 6 speed Jap bikes is that the bikes have that much grunt, are very smooth and the gears are very close ratio. Its often not easy to tell what gear you are in unless you've been doing a mental count. Plus with stock pipes and some wind noise they are bloody quiet now days!
Lets face it if they have a pipe on them then there is noise in every gear, just a different degree of urgency.

The difference between 5 & 6th gear on the open road on my Hornet is only about 500rpm. I've also been know to reach for 7th...........

Harleys are easy - shove it in top and lug it around

Haha, I'm always searching for 7th gear too, haven't found it yet.
Guess I'm still not used to going from a twin back to a smooth IL4 hehe.

Apart from that my broad-shoulderness means I need better mirrors, not much else really, I luffa my bike!

The seat - it would have to be THE most uncomfortable seat to rest your bum on for longer than an hour! Makes a wooden plank feel luxurious!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

The bike is perfect. It's the BIG Bugga riding it that's the problem! Being closer to three times the weight of a Miss Universe Australia contestant has advantages sometimes, just not on a bike!

Like my GSX1400. Best all rounder I reckon. Can't think of anything I would replace it with. Would like the Bking engine in her though and more ground clearance. It's got plenty of low end stonk, more than enough but you how it is

I don't like the scratches on the paintwork (my fault).

    Ummm.....

I don't like that the heated grips are playing up and I have to spend some time this weekend trying to work out what's wrong, or fitting new ones. And the speedo's gone on the blink - works when it feels like it. That's OK, except that's MORE time spent diagnosing the fucking thing, when I could be watching TV, or doing housework, or polishing my knob, or doing the grocery shopping, or doing the laundry.

    Nah, it's all good.
    Ish...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or maybe not...

    No power.
    Cheap tyres.
    Top speed of 80kph.
    And no 5th gear.

    That's about it I guess...

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Mirrors are designed for appearance and could be larger. I rode a Bandit 1250 the other day and the mirrors were incredible. Looked crap though.

I like the idea of a gear indicator however I just change up or down according to the rev counter. Sometimes there is no up 'cos I'm going too fast and if I could see I was in top gear, then it might be easier.

Why would you want heated grips on the Nawf Shaw?

Oh - it came with them on.
Before I bought it, I thought heated grips were only for people who lived in places with real winters. However (but!) it's surprising how much difference they make. I can ride year round with summer-weight gloves, and when it's a bit cold and/or wet, having warm paws makes you feel warm, even if you're not.
I'm in two moinds about them at the moment; my FahrtSturm has skinny gel grips, whereas these are very fat and hard, so if I can't fixxem easily, I may just rippem off and fit some comfy unheated grips instead.

Hmmmm lessee...nitpicking would suggest the following:-

Gear indicator would be useful I guess - always searching for that elusive 7th gear...(it's my excuse if I get stopped for excessive speed..."shorry oshifer, faunt I was in 5th, not 6th...") A likely story...

Could be lower to the ground...

Definitely needs wider mirrors - half a mirror's vision if ya pull your sides in...

But overall I am happy with it as it is...oh...an invisibility cloak that automatically comes on when radar signals are detected would be good....and no, it would not make you more vulnerable 'cause most cagers don't see you anyway...
