Sorry John...but it's a "you have to marry me to get a look at it" kind of job and hubby would have issues with that

Believe me there is no such thing as an unattractive woman, it's just a matter of time and opportunity. I spent a little time as a guest of the Panamanian Government and there were no women at all sharing that cell.
Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Ohh to behold. Cheers John.

    See you have a Magna!

Hey, see youve got a Magna. We had a 700cc model (imported) for a while and it was a real good bike especially for Mrs O/R to ride.
She used to use it to go to town often.
We only sold it because it had a ridiculously small tank and we have long distances to travel especially late at night when the gas stations are closed.
We were always having to carry a gas can.
So what size is the tank on yours? Are they still 6 speed? Questions, questions. Cheers John.

    Hey John

You have just asked about my favourite topic...ahhh..me wee black beauty.

The Honda Magna (aka black betty) is simply a fantastic bike.
From the first moment I sat on her I have been in love.
She has a serious amount of acceleration and is a really comfortable ride.

The only downside that I have found so far it what you have mentioned. She only seems to do around 200kms from top to the bottom of the tank.
I have been really surprised by this as the tank looks huge! But alas it isn't.

I'm sure if I rode more sedately then the kms would come up...but the thing is she is so smooth, and so much fun to ride, that it would almost be a crime not to let her duck and dive her way in and out of the corners.

My girl is 5 speed, which is quite different from the 4 on the VLX. Because she is quiet it is sometimes hard to judge what gear I'm in when slowing.

I'm taking her on tour to the South Island this December/January so will be able to tell you more about her when we return...but for the present...I'm really impressed!!!

As for the gas can...very good idea!! She hasn't a trip odometer at present (on order and paitently waiting for it ex Japan)...I had an opsee and ran out of gas the other day (previously mentioned in the silliest thing you have ever done on a bike thread). Hubby was not impressed but being the lovely man he is...rode into the next town to bring me some back. The old saddle bags easily fit a 5 litre can in them, so that will be one of the must pack items for the trip south.

I was absolutely excited the other weekend when I met 2 other people who owned a 750 magna (same model) in 2 days. I now think I have met the entire Auckland population of 750 Magna 1993 -1996 bikes lol! Considering they are pretty rare in NZ and all that. One was a black one like mine (in fact he had taken mine for a test ride and then found one at a different shop) and one is a yellow one that I see around quite often. Both are ridden by blokes and they thought I was mad when I bowled up asking questions and being all excited by their bikes lol!

For me...it's a love affair, every time I see her, I have to run my hand over the tank, I'm excited to ride her and really enjoy the bike (even when polishing and doing maintenance).

After having a VLX (sexy yes) but not feeling about it like this, I am just wrapped.

That's the advice I give my friends too...always buy the bike that you absolutely adore...a bond between rider and bike will take them a long way!

I'll shut up now before you realise just how obssessed I am
I've finished okay...there are no last words of wisdom...it's time to pull your pants up and go home!
