Yeah, what he said. Cycletreads, cyclespot and holeshot are all in the same street.

Call into AMPS and have a coffee. Bring your shades to stop chrome glare.

I noticed that they only started working on the bus lanes seriously last year or something. I just don't see why it needs to be temp 80 through there though it seemed safe enough at 120km/hr.... Not that I would do that of course...

Speedie - never knew that they made good cake... wish I tried them now, I did live on helvetia drive for 2 years or so. I always went to bernie's when I wanted pies and sunnynook for when I wanted other bakery stuff... now I don't go anywhere since there's nothing to compare in Palmy... Not enough illigal chinese immigrants to run bakeries here or something... (since all bakeries seem to be run by chinese in the shore and some are bloody good...)

You obviously would have heard lots about bike shops in Auckland, pros and cons. Best thing I'd suggest is just pop around all the shops and check them out yourself.

Ofcourse it also depends on what you're after as well or just browse around. That way you can be the judge not others.

    On the shore:

Cycletreads and Holeshot. (Barrys Point Road Takapuna) They are open 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Central: Mt Eden and Red Baron. (Boston Road and Great North Road) Same hours.

These are the four shops I generally go to for any bike stuff. Best I'd say is Cycletreads. Good guys not to hard stuck. Right prices as well. Enjoy.

Time your visit to AMPS for morning tea time (they have coffee, they also have Lou) but park the Lifan around the corner somewhere?

Experience BMW is just down the road from AMPS, sort of, worth a look and it all adds to the texture.

Holeshot in Barry's point rd is a must see, i always end up there and buy after looking at several other shops, at least when a sales person speaks to ya, you get their undivided attention through to the end, unlike some others, and i found the dude at Botany Honda a cool guy to deal with, didnt buy from there, but would have if i didnt go to Holeshot....

Uhhhh.... I didn't exactly plan to go all the way up to the Lifan 125cc scooter to auckland from Palmy......... That's an interesting idea though... Doing 600km or so on a scooter that does about 80-90km/hr at best and starts to scrape when leaned over more than 20 degrees......

On the other hand, I don't think my girlfriend will let me (it's her scooter) and I'd much rather do the trip in the zzr250
