    Hazards of the job

Did anybody else see the Pommy news item on TV1 this morning?

Showed a cop sheila dealing with a bunch of yobbos, she grabbed one and he fell over pulling her down on top of him, some of his mates stepped in to pull the cop off the guy.

Next thing from off screen a motorbike came barrelling in and deliberately ran over the cop sheila. (and all the other involved but not as badly)

Cop sheila got bruising, cuts etc.

The prick on the bike got 9 years inside for that effort, good shit.

Not 'cos he ran over the cop but he had no idea how many he was really going to hit and how seriously he would have hurt them.

Just another example of motorcyclists being targetted by the judicial/law enforcement system.

Bugger! I ran over a cat on the bike once, and that wasn't a nice feeling, but running over people puts the shits up me!

Thats one good reason when racing to stay either in front, and upright, or in the back, and not get lapped!!

    Poor Cop.

No sympathy for anyone that intentionally tries to run another human bean over.

Jaysus, was the cop and the yobbos actually fighting or was it just a little tussle (you know what i mean)? And any idea what the biker was actually trying to do?

Yep - it's pretty dangerous being a yobbo these days!

From what I can gather, the WPC was trying to break up a fight outside a pub when she was knocked over - the lunatic (who was not connected to the scene in any way) then rode his motorbike over her!

Fortunately, she was wearing body armour which protected her from the worst of it, but I understand she is still traumatised by the incident, quite aside from the various cuts and bruises she suffered.

I believe the madman got four years, plus another six years ban from driving.

At the court case, it was revealed that he had 85 (yes, EIGHTY-FIVE) previous convictions, including deliberately riding a pushbike at a policeman.

And they let him ride a bike? I dread to think what would have happened if he had been in a car.

NZ is more lenient than the UK - offenders have it pretty cruisy here for the most part. Probably coz your prisons are full - not coz there's so much crime but there just ain't enough prisons.

It's f*cked up that someone could do that.

... however there are a couple of female cops round here I wouldn't mind pulling on top of me...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
