Damn - I was trying to find confirmation but all the sources I've tried are overloaded. Not a good week for Oz... Not to mention these guys families.

Root. Probably two of Aussies most admired people killed within a week of each other. They certainly are having a bad run.
I think the best thing us Kiwi's can do to demonstrate our grievance it so sacrifice Helen Clark. It's a small price really.
RIP Brock.
Oh fuck me, not Peter Perfect. At least both him and Steve went out doing what they loved, not rotting away in a retirement home.

08 September 2006
BREAKING NEWS - 5.25pm
Motor racing champion Peter Brock has reportedly been killed in an accident in Western Australia.
A car competing in the Targa West rally crashed into a tree at Gidgegannup about 30 kilometres north-east of Perth about 12pm, a Western Australia police spokesman told smh.com.au.
The car was carrying two people and one had died in the crash, he said.
The major crash investigation unit was at the scene, he said.
He said he could not confirm the driver was Mr Brock, although that he is being broadcast on Sky News.

Yup - ms beemers (no so whose quote is it?) 'better to be a tiger for a day' quote sums them up for me.
I said in another forum re Irwin - if I ever 'buy the farm' on a motorbike I hope people don't get too out of shape.
Just say he knew the risks - was doing what he wanted most - so it's 'a life well lived'.
Party on Pete. It was glorious. 'Rallycross' with You and Colin Bond and the XU1 Toranas was the Sunday afternoon vision of my youth.
