Well, was up and about early so I got to BP Bombay no probs to meet up with aididdy - turns out some other KBers were gathering there also!
Had a nice natter until aididdy pulls up - and his ride spurts brown hot liquid onto the ground! Well, to cut a long story short - he refills with water and joins the group for the ride down to Oko!
A quick blat down the motorway and down via some country lanes led by our capable ride master saw us lose one member to mechanical difficulties. Bling to Nick who helped him out.
Well, some nice twisties and some pucker moments for me - when I truly got to scrub off my chicken strips! Loved the long sweeping corners and got the lean on... but... I crossed the center line...once!Had a great feed at Oko pub and got to look at some seriously drool making machines (I felt pain seeing one on the back of a trailer).
Ordered the Lambs fry with bacon, toast, gravy and peas and settled down with a coke and ginger beer.: Luverrly stuff and got chatting with Busa Pete and co. Thanks to my group for being patient and allowing my 250cc to tag along with the bigger machines! I'm sure they were holding back just because of me!
Sun was hot, food was good, company excellent - even saw The Dover and his missus and others from the Thursday Night Goat Track run! Awesome.
The ride back was quick and I'm now in the process of getting the photos I took processed! Will post them later!
Ahhhh - this is what I always thought biking would be, like-minded people out and about enjoying the day and their rides. Seriously kewl.
Its 4.56pm - the Suns still shining so I'm off to do more riding now my arse ain't so sore!![]()

Just a couple of photos from today's ride-in. Great to meet old friends who I hadn't seen for ages as well meet a whole load of new people from KB. The distance award must be shared pretty equally by Rider in Black from Whangarei and Mangell6 from the Kapiti Coast. Mangell6 left Kapiti this morning at 0615, stopped for a coffee and a pee in Tokoroa before coming on to Okoroire, stayed for a couple of hours then turned round and headed home. Just a "wee" training run for the Grand Challenge next month![]()

My head hurts ....
Next time lets do an overnighter so I don't have to stop drinking and therefore avoid getting a hangover.
Was cool.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem

up until paddyFZ1 pointed out rear tyre was flat, I had a great day ... and here I thought it was my wife wobbling around on the back
so the tow truck ride home was good .. I guess
Shopping for rubber tomorrow by the looks of it
was a great to see some new faces, and always good to see the familar ones. Got burnt to a crisp!!!
Thanks to everyone for turning up... you all made for a great day (some spectacular moments too)
I dont know how many bikes/riders were there but at least 30 KBers and another 20 odd non-KBers, we ran outta deck space real quick... we ran outta chairs by 11:30am... and with the sun shining the Oko staff need to sort out some shade.
I'm not surprised your head hurts MT (LOL)
