I think I've got a vid of Hamish on the flying quarter. Pitty I missed filming his Standing wheelies on the GN250 , the last one was brill !, most entertaining rider of the day.

Will edit on weekend, I think I've also got a couple of other bikes low flying. It was a bit harder to film at the new venu, probably only a couple of frames of bike in the video .

I'm hearing you. I paid my $50 just to find out what time I can do for a standing 1/4.
Haven't seen or heard a single time of mine.
Surely they will post the results, Isn't that what we paid for?
Wasn't that what they were offering?

All in all though, a good event. I agree about the crowd being too close -Scary should something go wrong.
I still like the east by west venue but hey, had it been there this time, the wind would have ruined it. So turned out to be the better venue after all.

What a wicked ride home, It was like riding into a Hurricane when approaching featherston. Cool!

OK then - as requested by MD ....

Here is a full frontal of my Italian girlfriend - taken in Garage (at home after the Sprints).
Note I had to tape up the number because the sticky was not too good - a few riders lost theirs along the way, probably just those like myself who actually apply polish to their bikes - not compatible with the adhesive on the sticky labels. Must remember to take some tape next time, I had to scrounge some Duct tape off those very obliging and very talented young racer types.

The preliminary times were posted on a white board....

Your $50 covered the MNZ race licence and entry. You will get a certificate, but there has been a delay...shit happens.

Glad you thought overall it was a good event.

Don't get too excited though, he reckons he forgot to wind up the shutter speed so they might just be nice pictures of spectators with big multicoloured blurs in front of them.
If they come out OK they'll be posted here.
I've just seen the photos, all of the shots involving speed are, as suspected, quite shitty - but there are a couple of okay wheelie shots.
I'll post them here in the next day or so.

There's only a couple that come close to being okay photos (wasn't me!).
Anybody here? PM if you want hi-res, get in before I give the prints back.

Looking at those wheelie shots, shows how little room we actually had.
Good to see some shots of the event at last.

    Talking Wahoooooooo

    I have my results

Thanks Deano for getting them to your place and also for a fanTAZtic ride today.

Well I got what I wanted.

Flying 1/4 5.56 sec. at an average speed of 260.51 kph (162.82 mph) Fastest 600 even beating the man MD by 00.47 of a Kph Oh I am soooooo happy

Please don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for MD. he is a better rider than me and it's not worth me even talking about wheelies as I can barely get the front end up for more than a couple of secs!!!! but he has a new 636 and I'm on a K1 Gixer 600 (yes with a couple of mods but hey) and I wanted to get him at something.

He got me in the standing. I got 10.99 and his was better. I'm not going to say what as I'm not sure he knows yet till he gets his certificate.

Looking forward to the November one.

Hope you all had a great weekend and managed to get some K's in on your machines

    Taz

A big Thank you to Marty at typeface for sponsoring me to have a go in my first race

Thanks to Steven at kittyosheas for building the computer program we're using at the sprints and the Hill Climb.
