Im not entirely sure. It seems to have a strong bottom end so it isnt showing signs it needs one.

Hey that's a great price - the one on trademe at the mo is listed at $2,400.
GNs seem to be going for over 2k and I am SOOOOO pleased I got my RG150 instead. I belt down the SH16 every morning with the traffic floww with plenty of top end left whilst every volty / GN sale I went to the owner told me they were moving on as the top 101kph was too frightening on the motorway!

I replaced the piston and ring at 32000kms, I'm glad I did cause the piston had a huge crack alongside it. The wall crumbled in my hands too. Plus the opposite side was black from where the blasts had got past the rings. I suggest get a new piston and ring anyway and play it safe. I swiched mine over easy enough and I'm no engine expert

However my bike seemed to be plagued with problems. I don't think you should worry about your piston breaking like mine (it fell apart when I pressed against the piston wall anyway), just might be worth sorting out when you have the cash

RG's are great bikes. I've even bought a second and will be doing it up (since it's crash damaged). And check out the link in my sig, drew it last night
