RC1 DVD's finally arrived on Thursday. A lot more stable than beta versions. Hibernate doesn't give me a screen full of $hite anymore. Bit of a fight getting the wifi drivers working though. Sempron 2200, 512 ddr400 256 ATI. Noticed BIG difference after bunging in another 512MB [1]. Still seems to have kernel bug where it won't boot from external USB drive. Not brave enough to stick it on laptop's main drive.

Is it just me that thinks Microsoft could have tried a bit harder? Apple and the Linux hippies must be rubbing their hands with glee and it's hardly going to scare enterprise level Unix users. Still seems to be Windows NT with a few bells and whistles. Another excuse for another round of hardware and 3rd party software upgrades as I suspect lots of things will be incompatible.

[1] Reminded me of whining at IT department until they upgraded PC running XP from 256MB to 512MB. I remember Microsoft trying to tell everyone back in 2001 that XP would run fine with 128MB. Most of my colleagues stuck with 2000 or NT until the hardware caught up.

I have mixed emotions about it. Too graphic orientated
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

    @ Dawnrazor & Enigma51...

If I could install it on a PC I would... Is it feasible because of the new Intel Macs? I really really really want a MacBook Pro

im running 64bit RC1 currently, seems to be fine.
the biggest thing if you want to run it is 1Gb+ of RAM, waste of time with anything less.

i currently have both 32bit and 64bit RC1 if anyone wants a copy.

Yes but that's off a Mac, I'd say, using Boot Camp.

Also, if anyone has Office 2007 beta lying around, I'd also be interested in that too. "Finders Fee" still applies
