To be of helpful assistance to SWMBO, while she was out this AM, I kindly did and hung out 3 loads of washing. (Nice guy that I am).
Now, my problem is this...
Went to hang out the 4th and last load (after she got home) only to notice that all previous hanging-out had been totally re-arranged on the line.
Where did I go wrong?

Women have a way everything must be layed out, even on the washing line, never cross her line, never try to do a womens job. you will be growled at and nagged at for not doing it in the proper layout.

Given that you washed the clothes, in the first instance incorrectly, then carried them, without proper training, and THEN proceeded to hang them in the manner most likely to cause actual phyical harm (to you) that she didn't actually cause you physical harm - is cause for celebration! Tell her to start cooking your eggs and then go to the pub for four days - that'll clear up that domestic bless, quick smart.

Mums like that... Don't know why... Its why I gave up doing the laundry... I still try to be helpful though... But even now she re-arranges the rug when I put it back on the floor after cleaning and stuff... You just can't win...

The laundry Items should range from smalls on the inside to bigs on the outside.

You should always puts pegs on seams, not NEXT to them as the seam is stronger than a single layer of fabric.

Never jam the pegs on, or if they are spring loaded, use the tightest setting. This will cause the fabric to fray during normal wind movement due to friction breaking down fibres in the fabric..
