That chainsaw dude always makes me laugh. The original Waikato beer ad. was filmed at the Paekakariki Pub, with the boys from Northern United (The club that Jerry, John S, Tamati, Serge belong to) It was great fun. My role was to walk in put my chainsaw on the rack and walk to the bar. You can see my arm and my back. I'd always been told I have a face for radio! The beer was warm and the fish and chips cold - so much for being a star...

Yea great club. Gotta go with Welly, great team, although haven't been to impressed by Nonu sure he's impressing others but at the game against Canterbury i think he's trying a bit to hard and playing a bit more like a very dangerous loose forward...fair call?

I admire his attacking play, but defensively, he's a pussy.
How can a guy that big get brushed off in a 'one on one' tackle situation so often?
Loose forward? Never. They HAVE to make every tackle count. Jerry. Ritchie. Rodney. Chris. Harder than steel. That's a loose forward.

I'd agree with those sentiments. A good (read as inconsistent) back and a piss poor defender. The most telling on Friday was when the young fella (yet to prove the hype) waltzed straight past him. Toeava did get a pat on the butt on the way past though - thanks Ma'a, you're the Ma'an....

I think not. Ever seen anyone in Wellington bashing a fucking cowbell non stop for 80 mins? Ever seen anyone in Wellington revving the shit out of a chainsaw like they want the lead in 'The Texas chainsaw massacre part ten' for no good reason?

Wellington is very different thank fuck.

Yea good point i was refering to how he attacks with the ball and when wellington have the ball. just sort of the way when on attack he looks for the player not really the space and he kind of tries to get into everything and sort of is always trying to much with the ball instead of just throwing the pass to the next man. but yea defencesivly on the wing well just playing on the wing really he's not to good he doesn't really play to the position. he's kind of just on the wing to be on the field

but in saying that im still all for Wellington

And it just shows the passion that other regions' supporters have for their team. We went to watch Canterbury and Wellington play (I use the term loosely - it was a poor game) in the quarter finals and I was appalled to see the cake tin pretty much half empty.

Quarter finals, chance to watch Wellington walk all over the Crusaders again...half empty stadium.....? Not a lot of passion for rugby in Wellington from what I've seen so far.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

I too was at that game, and must say also how disappointed I was in the numbers at the game.
But, that's the exception rather than the norm. Wellington rugby is well followed and we normally have far bigger crowds than ANY of the other unions. Same goes for the Hurricanes. That's why the Wellington Union is one of the richest in NZ.
