Three motorcyclists in collision with truck, one dead

    UPDATED 3.10pm Friday October 20, 2006

Three motorcyclists collided with a truck in an accident this afternoon which left one of them dead.

The other two motorcyclists suffered minor injuries in the crash on State Highway 3, near Eight Mile Junction, just south of Te Kuiti, at around 1pm.

"The motorbike has appeared to have driven into the rear of the truck, both of which were heading north at the time," Senior Sergeant Rob Van Kalken said.

The motorbike rider who died was a 40-year-old man. He died at the scene and his name and details were being verified by police.

Traffic was being diverted from State Highway 3 around Te Kuiti via Troopers Road until about 6pm.

Specialist Police Crash Investigators were examining the crash scene to establish the cause.

Oh f*ck... RIP, biker... Be careful out there this weekend folks.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule

Yeah um, hit the rear of the truck, now what sort of truck driver would drive in reverse in the direction that he has just come from?.....
Conclusion drawn.........no wait, maybe it wasnt the trucks fault?.....
