    Video editing software

What's the best video editing software out there? I've got a digital home video cam to work with.

    Cheers.

I use Windows Movie Maker, mainly cause I'm lazy and can't be bothered looking around for anything better.

I need a really good program that gives me the control to use some wicked special effects and gives me good control over the audio part as well.

I've got some really wicked ideas. I wana make it happen.

+1. I've got Adobe Premier Pro, does everything you want with ease. Makes you look like Peter Jackson, without the scruffy hair and beard, oh and about $80 million per film you make. Otherwise no one could tell the difference.

Windows Movie maker does an OK job. You can get some damn fine results and it's free.

Final Cut on Mac is pro equipment, and can get an express version without all the orchestral music samples for like $300.
That is, if you want to be a movie ninja, cause you've already got the free ones.
