Just remember that what you are talking about (12? people coming into your house) is a home invasion. The courts are taking this more seriously nowadays.
Even 1 person, coming into your house with the wrong intentions, is still classified as this.

What you'd do and what i'd do are different things. You say you arnt a violent person, and you probably havnt had many (any?) violent confrontations with gangs before, because normal people try and avoid those things.

Unless you and your friends/family/flatmates are prepared to goto war with these guys, the best thing for you to do is move.

In my younger days I'd have almost certainly molotov'd the house and made sure they knew it was me and that if they ever came near me or my house again I'd put buckshot through their stomach. These days with kids and stuff I'd probably just move, about the most violent thing I've done in years was slash some bastards tires for parking on the footpath a few doors down from me, and making me walk onto the road when i was walking home pissed.

you are quite correct, i haven't had any run ins with gangs before
they are usually "sweet" with me.
im really hoping this was a random one off thing as i never do anything to provoke them, well, not that i know of..... (i dont look at them or anything crazy like that)

im going to stay put for now and see how it goes

Always good to have a cop around to point this stuff out. The amount our views are shaped by the media is just incredible...
