An off-duty prison officer was assaulted yesterday after gang members tried to steal his Harley Davidson motorbike in Kaikohe.

Police said the incident happened after two off-duty prison officers stopped at a dairy about 5.30pm. One officer "was seriously assaulted requiring stitches to his head".

    Three men were later arrested.
Guess the gang didn't get the Harley

I'm curious about how long the bad guys have been out of prison.

If it's a good life inside - what better way to get back in that smack someone around that knows who you are etc...

Credible witness in court, you plead guilty and it's an easy way back to the good life... and you get to bash one of the goons locking you in there previously...

Cynical but I'll put $10 on it.

    Angry

    mutter mutter bike thieving bastards!
I hope that this is an opportunity for them to discover the joys of perpetual solitary confinement.
A time of relection and consideration, where diet should be controlled by the 'whatever can fit under the door' method.
Why do we have to pay $75,000 per inmate per year, for these pricks!

LOL no, and I have nothing but respect for their work. I was writing first person (from the bad guy's point of view).

Feel free to point that out anytime
