I have just one recommendation to make: FJR1300. Whoar.

We'll be putting a new Tiger Demo on just as soon as they're available!

OK, so the riding around here is very different from NZ, but on the highway, I always found my VFR750 very comfortable. I'm 59 (not that you'd know ) and 6'3".
Just bought an '02 Speed Triple, and I love it already, so totally diferent to the VFR. However, on the highway, it's no match, you're a bloody sail on it and at 100(mph) it's seriously a pain to hang on. We can cruise at 75, and that is still pretty hard work, I have to say.
I didn't buy it to ride on the highway, mind, but that is a consideration when I need to go three hours north to get some corners. I reckon the Tiger would be a great bike for NZ as a replacement for the VFR, and if it's anything like my Speed Triple, loads of character.
    Just my .02c worth.
    Cheers

I'm seriously thinking about a new Tiger. As long as it fangs well. It seems to have everything you need in a bike plus some style. There are optional lower seats available, but the standard one is lower than the old Tiger.
The old Tigers are being specialled now too, around $15995 with bags and heated grips (I think)

If the new Tiger crosses a Speed Triple with the Old Tiger the way I saw in the Buell, then I'll have a very serious look too.

FWIW my next purchase will probably be a cruiser. My Tbird is getting to retirement age and I have really, really enjoyed the Harleys I've had lately.

Yes, I know what you mean about the looks from the pictures. But I thought that of the new Speed Triple, and in the flesh, it looks brilliant. I expect the new Tiger will too. Triumph have an open house here this coming weekend, so I'll get to see one, and maybe ride it. I sort of don't want to, as it may let me see what I'm missing settling for my '02 Speed Triple
    Cheers

I have an '03 Tiger which I'm rapped with. From the pics of the '07 I have seen so far, I preferred my model. However, today, while on holiday in Melbourne, I came across an '07. In the 'flesh' it looks fantastic. The one I saw is black like my one too. It's getting rave reviews and just from the looks, I can see why.

The new Tigers are in stock now. We've sold two or three already. They are lower than the 955, I can get both tip toes on the floor. The low seat is 15mm lower again, so should be just right. The sports can gives an extra 10hp, so you're up to ST power. The only thing I don't like is the fat can getting in the way of panniers.
