Gutted to read about this though I've never met you or had much to do with you online. We would have met if I'd gone with JSG to Winja's place a couple of weeks ago for that BBQ. I sincerely hope that you can keep a good attitude despite what's happened and I wish you all the best for the future...

I called into Burwood to pay Inline a quick visit. Just an off chance thing since I was in the area. Seems he's somewhere else.

Is he able to recieve visitors or is this a bit soon?

I got a wee bit of time up my sleeves for the next couple of weeks due to me telling the boss, next time he sneezes do it up his arse and not over me. So here I am suspended from my job. So what's the story with visits?

John and I just want to say thanks so much for all your best wishes, offers of help, money etc - you are just all so great

John had a rough night last night and his temperature went through the roof so he has an infection somewhere which they need to treat.

he is probably going to theatre next Friday and then he will start to be able to move a bit more. He did a damn good job of stuffing his back and his spine is just so out of place.

his biggest worry at the moment is that he will get booted off kiwi biker for not having a bike any longer. He doesn't want to EVER ride again even on a trike.

He enjoyed the calls he got today and they really brightened up his day - thanks guys

Donna - please tell John that he is always gonna be part of the family on KB.... and that he is missed already on KB with his wit and humour.
So he needs to have his laptop down there asap so that he can come on and chat to us all.....

He has been part of KB and always will be .......... just cos he wont ever ride again.... bikes are in his blood. Tell him that Stonechucker is still part of KB even thou he also isnt riding no more due to his injuries as well.
Once you are part of KB we dont let you go away.

John is one of those great guys who keeps us amused with his various threads or responses to various threads

I my sincere thoughts are with you both & I know its going to be a hard road ahead .. but please please please .. if you need anything feel free to pm or ask as there are such a vast number of ppl on the KB community who would be more than happy to assist in any way they can ..

I will call John at some stage over the next few weeks .. I can imagine he is going through quite a lot at present .. along with yourself

& I will now definately come to chch in the new yr some time to see john & other kbers ..

John has got his laptop down here - speedygirl is doing a great job of looking after me and she will pass on his laptop to him as soon as he is able to use it again - at the moment all he gets to look at is the ceiling.

it's just so hard to take it all in at the moment. A week ago I was busy planning our wedding next year and now it is all on hold until he is up and about again. I am just so scared that he will try and get rid of me from his life trying to do the right thing and thinking that he is a burden. but how could he ever be - he is the same in life as on this site. bloody minded and everythings always black or white - no grey in his life.

We are just so grateful to have so many of you out there thinking of us
love and best wishes to everyone who has made contact - john is going to need your support over the coming months as i am just one person and even giving him my 100% is not enough

some ppl have funny idea's bout being burdens etc .. when you still love them for themselves, not for what they can do or not do ... & just ask john if it ever comes up .. would he love you any less if you was in his situation ? then tell him to stop being selfish LOL .. & if that dunna work i am sure we can arrange a 4x2 whack on the head to knock some sense into him.

I know several couples who have been where you are .... one moment in time & life as they knew it changed forever ..

just wondering if there is a support group that you can hook into as you go through the new paths in your lives .. make enquiries if you can to see if there are ppl you can talk to who have been through it .. It may help with questions that are bound to crop up once the initial stress of the next few weeks wears off

& keep planning that wedding hon .. just think john can't escape that easy anymore
