    you are a clown.

I live in that area, not far from where you illegaly ride. The other night someone was riding until after nine oclock! How he could see i dont know, as my guess is it was a YZ400/426, and we all now they dont have lights. Pissing people off by riding in residential areas where children are supposed to be sleeping at that hour is not clever. It only makes it worse for us dirt bike riders. Yes, i am a mxer too, but am smart enough to join a club and ride at legal areas where they also have medical aid if required. I couldn't think of a more boring place to ride than the smell flat track at Albany. If you want to learn how to ride go to Ardmore or join the Rodney club.

Wellyman, Auckland has tons of tracks to ride on, Muriwai bike park is open 7 days a week! Ardmore is open on Wednesday nights. There is no reason to ride illegally.

it's a shame places have to setup properly and charge such a large amount and are also miles away from anywhere (like ardmore who still get complaints).
shame auckland has no where for that quick afternoon weekend ride like the waimak/mcleans island in chch.

i dont condone riding at 9pm on subdivisions like that, but a sunday afternoon blat is something we should be entitled to.
just remember, MX'ers are tax payers and rate payers too!

eitherway, MX tracks such as ardmore etc will soon end up like Western Springs etc... on their way out because a small handful of people have nothing better to do but complain. you rekon they will shut SH1 soon because its too noisey? wouldnt surprise me! haha

If i wanted to live next to a mx track (as you call it) i would have purchased a house on Old Quarry Road, or Gereghty-Maber Road. Do you maybe have some land next to your house where i could come for a few hours and ride? Also, the motorway noise is not even 10 percent as loud as a four stroke mx bike

All I can say is, thank fuck I live in Christchurch. 15 minutes and I'm on a trail. No entry fee, nimby neighbours, etc.

does this also apply to Western Springs?
they chose to live next to a motorsport venue that was there first, yet stupidity prevails and the residents win.

Unfortunatley this is no longer true, as the bike park is open on Sat and Sun only. I would sure like to know of the tons of tracks to ride on. Less and less legal riding venues available, and its a real problem for enthusiasts and the motorcycle industry in the Auckland area.

I don't think you follow what i wrote. I chose NOT to live next to a motocross track. You can therefore understand why people get upset when loud automotive noise suddenly begins in the area. Albany is not a motocross zoned area. Having noise like this on a Sunday when citizens are maybe trying to sell there house on the market is not helpful (or perhaps just having a quiet day which they are entitled too).

Harrisville,Mercer, Ardmore, Honda bike park, Waterford, Rodney club events. Ramarama chicken farm. Clevedon JAM track. Kariotahi. Muriwai bombing range. Kimmys farm. Thunderpark. Power Adventure rides. MR Motorcycle rides. Then theres other clubs not far from Auckland such as Huntly (awesome riding), Patetonga. Enough to select from there.

arj, none of those tracks are open today for a ride. I'm not argueing that those are places to ride but the point is they are only open for certain times, and some for only a few hours on a Saturday etc. The bombing range is not a legal option either. If I wanted to go for a ride now, Tuesday morning, or at any time today, there is no where I can legally ride. Thats the point, there is no where for a legal casual ride when you are able to ride. Many people now work in the weekends too. If someone finishes work at 5.00pm today and wants to go for a ride for a few hours, where can they go? Yes ardmore is open Wednesday, but its Tuesday. Next week Greg Power might have a twilight ride, but thats next week. So these guys are going to go where others have gone, and ride that peice of land in Albany until they get kicked off, or go for an illegal ride in Woodhill, Neither is an option for me. So where can I ride? I really would like to know.

Ah yes, there is that track in Otahuhu but I would soon get bored going around in circles there, but I guess its an option when desperate.
Anyone got the details on where exactly and how a ride can be arranged for there? How much and how do I pay or get a key or what ever?

Bullshit! What a pathetic comment. You aren't forced into anything due to a lack of places to ride legally.

im guessing you dont have a problem being able to ride when ever, people are just expressing there frustration at lack off places to ride, would love to hear your oppinion? i hate the words 'ride illegally', whos being effected in these cases? are you saying we should be happy being restricted to riding sat, sun, and thats it? and even some of those places are restricted to an extent. im guessing most of the illegal riders in the muriwai area are club members!!!!

You have chosen motocross as your sport. As with all sports, there are designated areas where you compete or practise. If your chosen sport was circuit racing in a car, you would not be practising on the local neighbourhood streets. Yes its sad when people move into an area where there is an existing race track of some kind and start complaining. But in my case, the dirt bikes arrived afterwards. Weekends were peaceful.

Hopefully Auckland will become more switched on and maybe create some kind of track up by the Snowplanet or something.
