You will lready be in the 'everyone hasn't seen me yet' frame of mind.

Be aware that your positioning on the road will be a bit screwed up for a start. Despite recent grumblings about road cyclists you will be inclined to hide away on the left side of the road and hug the parked cars...you have to be bold and be in the right tyre track and own your part of the road.

Anyway, had some strong coffee and am a bit 'ranty'.
I am concious of my road positiong and I've become good at dodging cars, unfortunately I get to do it a bit commuting to and from wk on my treddley.Only hit one car so far, and a little dog, flattened him, he was small luckily so rode straight over the top of him without coming off, had my shoxs locked out at the time so it was a real thudd. He faired worse than me.Its taught me to have eyes in the back of my head, makes for good defensive stuff.I should be ok with bike placement in traffic, thats one of the things we talked about at the learners course and have I've made agood mental note on.

Thanks for the advice, all tips welcome.

If what you just said is a bit "ranty" I'm feeling a bit self concious.Best get my fingers away from the keyboard and get back to work.

    Rideforever is a good start....

Go for it and work your way into riding. I first rode a bike at 31 and loved it... on my fourth bike now (no I didn't crash em' I just have expensive taste).

Yeah, its expensive, dangerous etc etc blah blah, but you only get one lifetime to life a lifetime.
