    Farewell Old Friend RIP

Today Mstrs and I farewelled an old family friend, who had been a part of our lives for almost twenty years - actually part of Mstrs' life for longer than that.

Our friend has always been there for us, through thick and thin, good times and bad, always ready to offer a cold bevvie in times of stress, heat exhaustion and indeed in times of celebration, always there with quiet comfort.

In recent times we have noticed the aging process has begun to accelerate and yesterday I noticed that he actually smelled - really badly!! On investigation, I found that it was terminal and nothing could be done for our pal.

Yes,the freezer in our faithful old beer fridge had died, but not before the infection had spread to other things lurking in there - fish bait and berley were among the victims, hence the decidedly unpleasaant odour of decay.

So we emptied it out, hXc gave it a bash or three with the hammer, sort of as a fond farewell and it has gone off to the tip in the trailer..

So its off to find a new one today, as my wine stocks are now on the floor of the gargre and as its another scorcher of a day here in the bay, I'll be needing a cold drink sooner or later.

Now, actually, you see, that was the precise problem....
Excuse my lack of a sense of humour - I am in mourning
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

So you sent a device full of ozone-depleting chloroflourocarbons to the landfill? Al Gore would be appalled.

    Yep!
Certainly did, but you don't have to worry about it because it was quite dead, it had definitely shuffled off this mortal coil...

    Ode to Fridge

I write this through a veil of tears.
My condolences on thoughts of warming beers.
"The Fridge" now rests 'neath greener pastures.
Aft' giving it's life in an olfactory disaster.
Grieve not my friends, be strong and true.
Seek out new whiteware to chill thine brews.

So was the Old Fridge, in a fit of pique perhaps, complicit in yesterday's Hastings landfill fire?

No, and coincidently, one of the cages' waterpump has just gone out in sympathy. Personally, I think that Ixion has a lot to answer for.....
