    Coro on Sat 2nd Dec

South Coro Loop - Kopu to Whangamata to Waihi and back the same way

Meeting at Papakura Autobahn cafe after 9:00am.

    Leaving at 9:30.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

    Hi there,

I feel like going around Coro this Sat the 2nd, anyone want to join me?

Happy to do the north loop or south loop - not both as I have to be back home by 4pm latest.

There will most probably be a newbie coming with me so newbies are most welcome.

    Cheers,
    JSG

Sorry Speedie, just don't have the time to be bothered with politics.

Any of you actually interested in riding those roads turn up as advised.

Not a dig at you G .. hope you're doing well.

Yo JSG, team muppet was planning on heading out that way on Saturday mate, looking at being in Kopu ready for departure for 11ishpm.
Mite see you out there, i can't be arsed doing the whole back roads from botany through to miranda, takes too long. But yeah i'll be at kopu for 11pm with Daryl and a few others. Not fussed on which loop, although i much perfer going kopu, whanagmata, waihi, whangamata, kopu if you do the bottom loop, the K gorge through to Paeroa is shit, short and policed!

Might be able to sneak out Have to see but like JSG can't be late that day, preferably back by 3ish for me.
Loosebruce has a good idea. The roads to Waihi and back are awesome too.
If we do Kopu to Whangamata to Waihi and back the same way, makes for a shorter ride than the North Coro loop and we still get some great roads we get to do twice minus the over policed 80kmh K Gorge. Good thinking Loosebruce.

Those that leave Auckland, what time do you plan on meeting at the Autobahn Papakura?

    Thats a first

Plus it'll be good to get out that way again now, before holiday traffic takes it's toll on the roads round there, knee, peg, pipes and whatever else scrapping the deck through a corner to find a campervan doing 4kph halfway round

Should be a mint day, and yea the bottom route as suggested is just as good (if not better IMO) and a fair bit shorter than the full loop, good days riding. Plus Hikuai (sp) to Whangamata just gets no better in terms of roads and for the late comers like Dss3 it'll be easier to hook up with the group.

Just my thoughts, whatever you choose JSG

na - you do have a good point. I too love the short loop and with my time constraints it would be the better ride.

Meeting point changed to Autobahn Papakura.

Leaving there at 9:30 pm now.

So we should easily get to Kopu Mobil by 11 am - probably have time for a quick pie and coke or protien bar and orange juice...

Be great to see you guys there.

The K gorge is fun even within the speed limit. As for the rarely to be found filth, slow down on the boring straight bits and you'll be fine.

Ok, I'm down for the ride but won't be there if the weather is dodgy.
As soon as the BT020's that came with the bike are worn off, then I won't mind the damp, but right now, riding in less than dry conditions makes life just a little too exciting.

Olivia, we will easily make Kopu at around 10.30 am, if we leave Paps at 9.30am. So we will have time to suck some suds and scoff a maggot pack before heading to Hikuia-Whangamata.
