One thing in alot of media I have seen is that track knowledge is immensely more important away from the billard smooth tracks that are modern race circuits, a slightly wrong line is going to cost you lots of time or at worst lives at a road circuit.

Walking or push biking the circuit at low speed would be one thing to do if you have never been there before.

I agree with walking a Closed cuircut ie manfeild etc but not a road course, the reason being, on a road course you have so many distractions around you, trees, poles etc I have seen and heard guys say, But I walked it and was sure it went this or that way, I believe the problem there was, they walked it and thought they had mapped it and rode accordingly, but the reality with a fast road course is Fuck it changes when you start stretching the cables, and this can leed to big trouble in little china

Having said that bit of dribble, I 100% agree about track kinoledge, at the TT I have gone out at night time and spray painted reference points on trees and such like to give my self that extra bit of Data to work with.

Now about approaching things from the left, where else can I hang my tackle

Thanks for sharing those thoughts Shaun. Fascinating and quite inspiring. See ya round. (Will you be at Taupo on the 31st?)

Cheers Shaun for helping me understand a little of what goes into it. Much appreciated. Go hard.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I can relate to that! As a kid I used to watch the Wanganui Racing on Boxing Day when they used to televise it live....was the best thing over the whole christmas period. Now some 25-30 years later I am going to race there myself.(next year....havn't done 3 race meetings yet) I dont expect podium finishes but it will be a shitload of fun!

Thanks for sharing your views....means alot to some of us.

Thats for sure mate. I will never forget my first time (last year), best day of my life. Still think back about how much of a rush it was to race there, undescribable. Good luck, hopefully I'll be able to make it next year.
