was a good day few small problems (of the 3 sessions i did) i did not see checked flag once, twice saw white flag, next lab, i get waved in to pit line with guy with red flag, which i though was piss poor, espically beginning of 3 session they said do not come in white flag remember come in after checked.
Over all day was okay for me, i really need to grow some balls, and learn to ride. I am at edge on rear on both sides, but my corner speed still sucks. My major problem is i don't lean off the bike what so ever, i put my knee out, but my ass does not move. I think i might have to work on this.
Only had one major scary moment coming down start/finsh line, little fast and little late on bike, had whole rear end chattering like two school girls.
Bike seams bloody fast, seams to pull heaps of bikes in on the straights. Now just to sort out the loose screw on top of it
Wel for my first ever track day it was frikken awesome.
Decided to go in the slow group and so my day went as such...
First round- Was an absolute shitter. Didn't know what lines to take and wasn't even cranking the bike over. Got passed a few times and was very nervous.
Second round - found out I really need to be able to brake, fucked brakes not giving me to much in the way of condidence. Got a bit better though and after some helpfull tips started geting my lines right and my bike cranked over a bit more. started overtaking people which was fun.
Third round - after a huge can of harden up just decided to give it shit. left braking a lot later than usual, and just bled off as much speed as I could with my brakes and just chucked the bike down a few gears and although it made the back a bit unstable made me scrub off enough speed to be outbrake a few people in the group.Biggest problem I had was overtakiing the bigger bikes. With fecked brakes couldn't go up the inside and the just opened the throttle on the straights so had no chance there. So basically going hot into turn on adn then around the outside of them as well as a few other corners was my only overtaking place. Overtook a few people so decided to go into the medium group for my last round.
Last round- Was an absolute shitter. Was heaps slower than the third round but was still going ok. Overtook one or 2 people and got passed by a few as well. Problem is I find my groove after about the 4th lap and we had a stoppage in the session so had to get back into it was finally starting to get going and then as with CAJUN I was about to crank it into the front straight for my lap after I had done my white flag lap when the marshel starts walking across the track with the red flag. had to fucking put on the anchors (which I didn't have) to get into pit lane. They really need to get that sorted.
All in all an awesome day and will be doing another when I get the brakes and a few other things sorted. Thanks to everyone who was involved and to those who gave me some very handy tips.
Cheers
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Cool chris, the stands on the day were a really good feature,
Only other issue i have is alot of people still don't understand pass on outside of corners, or other thing is they pass on outside but then cut person they passed off. I had 3 people tell me simlar things all in novice group, it might not matter in more expernice groups, but in novice group, some of the rules i believe should be a little stricker.

That is also something we are going to expand in the future. It's not just a matter of having people there that want to sell stuff to you (let's face it, they do!) but more about making the day more interesting. Dunlop gave away a very nice jacket to one lucky rider and Suzuki not only provided a $30 entry fee but also gave you some free stuff as well! We are intent on providing value for money and also making the day as safe as possible which is one of the reasons we use experienced flaggies. I know there was a bit of confusion regarding the white and chequered flags but these guys flag at speedway, MotoX, V8's etc so have a good idea of whats going on and what to do if someone goes down.
Point taken. We have one overtaking rule for all whether your an experienced track rider or novice at your first track day and rigorously enforce it, IF we see it or are told about it. We have sent riders home from previous track days for pissing off other riders with their riding antics. At then end of the day it's all about having fun, nobody wins and nobody loses, there's no prizes and no points at stake so why not have a little more patience with your fellow riders.
Thanks for your comments. If it can help us put on a better track day then it's all good. As Simon Meade from Suzuki told you all, there will be more Suzuki track days next year at Taupo and Manfeild, dates to be announced in the new year, at a likely cost of $50.
Thanks to Suzuki and Kiwi Rider and the marshalls for the day. It was really good for me to test my race bike once again before the season, as well as it gave Andrew Stroud a chance to test what a 600 feels like, he said he loved my bike and raved about the suspension set up package ( Kool)
Good to meet some Kiwibikers on the day, should see more of you in the future
Great day of riding with it being nice and sunny.
Was good to meet some new kber's as well as catch up with those I already know.
Thanks for lending me your visor Gavin and Sudeep for adjusting my chain.![]()
I'm looking forward to these very decently priced Suzuki sponsered trackdays next year! Got any dates planned yet Chris?

You fucken burglar!
Good day, thanks heaps to Chris and Suzuki NZ. I can't believe how smoothly it all went.
For suggestions (and I'm not trying to be picky), a few more marshals around the track would of been handy. We were told not to stop to assist fallen riders, yet when Patch crashed, he was in a spot that the existing marshals couldn't see. It took ages for a flag to be shown and he obviously wasn't in a hell of a good state. The other point was I reckon the day would have been just as smooth with only three groups. Either that, or shorten the sessions to 15 minutes.
Just a thought.
